Full announcement on my blog!To join, send me an email at mythmere at yahoo dot com! Note: This isn't just for the Frog God Games Complete Rules, it's for all three S&W versions PLUS OD&D as well. And ... I have no idea how to make that graphic smaller - it's only supposed to be 2 inches wide. Sorry about creating the scroll-down problem.

for stuff meant to be displayed on a screen, you should go by pixel dimensions instead of real-world measurements. That's a 600x708 pixel image, which is fairly big for the web; I'm guessing it's at 300 dpi? Your web version should be 72 dpi and probably 200x236 or 150x177. It's just a matter of selecting Image > Scale Image in The GIMP and then saving as a different filename.
As for the creative guild... I'll probably have some questions about that. I wasn't sure what your blog was suggesting it's for; I'll go back and read the announcement more carefully.

It's mainly to centralize information about the part that isn't about gaming but involves either organization or publicity. Convention games, blogs, publishing, etc. The gaming discussion works better on a message board, but the specialized information works better if it's a bit more coordinated.
The average S&W/OD&D gamer would be able to pull information about conventions, and probably some about writing adventures, so it will be useful, but the main beneficiaries would be people who are organizing things.
Which is why it's useful for OD&D just as much as S&W - it's more about conventions and coordinating, not about house rules or other more specific discussion.
I'm not saying not to join it if all you're interested in is the pure gaming side - it's the other way around - I would say to definitely join it if you're interested in activities that are about organizing/publishing gaming events or materials.

That is how you make the graphic smaller. Eris

How do I see the img code you added? Press the "quote" button in the top left of the message whose code you want to see.

How do I see the img code you added? Sorry. Here you go!

The standard BBCODE for resizing an image is to include the width=nnn and height=nnn properties to the img tag. This works on the proboards' software (and most others), but not on all forum software.

Maybe with some forum software, but not Proboards (and % isn't a BBCode standard either).

Which is why it's useful for OD&D just as much as S&W - it's more about conventions and coordinating, not about house rules or other more specific discussion. So, if I'm not organizing a convention there isn't a lot of benefit that I can't get by reading boards like these, if I understand correctly. I mean, C&C has a society and Labyrinth Lords has a society, so this is really a S&W society. OD&D only seems an add-on just as much as LL could add on B/X since they are tangentially related. Not a bad idea, but seems like we're spread out pretty thin already.

seems like we're spread out pretty thin already. I agree. There don't seem to be many of us who actually play ODD any more and posts for ODD get spread out among too many boards already. Besides, I feel like a member of a "ODD Society" by just posting here! Whatever works for you, though.

Besides, I feel like a member of a "ODD Society" by just posting here! I guess it depends what you feel "qualifies" as playing OD&D, but I think there might be quite a few of us still. I've played a hand in bringing a group of former pathfinder players over to my (houseruled) OD&D, so there's still newbies coming over too But this board is the premier community for OD&Ders for sure ;D
