I love the ideas of complete collections of things, presented in the order written. However, I wish they would split them up into multiple volumes. It seems silly, I know, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that I greatly prefer smaller books rather than omnibuses. Omnibuses always feel to me like a chore to read, whereas reading smaller collections or stand-alone novels leaves me with a sense of accomplishment when I finish the book, and I can thrill in picking up the next one (or choose not to). I have a few of the Fantasy Masterworks books that I just never finished, even though I read 50%+ of it, and that’s a sucky feeling.
Sorry to derail the thread. Yeah, I thought about getting that B&N HPL collection when it was last in print a few years ago. But it disappeared before I could. I like the Arkham House editions, but I don’t like how they’re not in order, forcing me to flip back and forth between them.

OOooh, shiny! I already have a complete collection of his work (oddly enough, picked up at B&N a year or two ago for dirt cheap), but it has a very generic cover; I may have to get this one and donate my current copy to a worthy friend...
