Last week I lucked into a copy of Boot Hill (1975 first printing). I'm making up some character sheets and reference charts and I want to use the original western-style font on the cover of the goldenrod booklet. Does anyone know the name of the font?
Thanks!

Not sure about the font, but please share any 1E Boot Hill materials you create!

I've never been able to find, or even figure out the name of, the font on the cover of Boot Hill.
Some substitutes you might consider are: Cottonwood, URW Wood Type, Saloon Girl Inline, Pointedly Mad. They aren't the same but they definitely all have a 1800s western vibe. The last one listed is legally free (I think).
PM me if you decide to use a substitute and have trouble locating any of these fonts.

I'm not sure of the exact font they used in the modules. Looking at them they look like they were drawn graphics rather then a font.
For a good old west font use Mesquite.

I see this question is really old, but just in case someone else is looking for a match... Although it’s not the exact same font, FontMesa’s Bufallo Bill seems to be a modern version of it. I don’t have a very clean scan of the 1e cover, but Buffalo Bill, when I overlay it, appears to match, and it even does a good job, once you scale it horizontally a bit, on the chapter heads on the inside.
