Back in May I made a return to our glorious hobby after 15 years of absence. One of the most awesome discoveries for me was the existence of so many like-minded gamers who loved the old style (OD&D, B/X, AD&D 1e). I was also really excited to find that there were FREE rules sets out there on the web (because I am cheap!).
So, to make a long story short, I recruited a couple buddies who’d never played D&D but who love graphic novels, zombies and horror movies, and rad things in general, and we played a couple sessions.
We all loved it so much that it’s turned into a nice little campaign, with characters just now reaching 5th level and a cool setting coming into focus.
We’re calling the setting The Lost Continent and my players come up with a lot of great ideas to add to the world. We use a mash-up of rules and house rules (Labyrinth Lord with some OD&D/Holmes substitutions), with a modified magic system, clerical prayers, some homemade character classes, and “styles” for fighters and thieves.
We’ve got biological warfare, rules for alchemy, clerical prayers, dinosaurs, lots of zombies, an area that’s like an ancient Russia, time portals with aliens, Lovecraftian cults, and lost races. In other words, we’re having a great time! My blog about it is below.

My blog about it is below. Um, if it is, I can't see it. Please post a link to your blog, because I'd like to read about this (and I'm sure I'm not alone!)
