I am introducing my friend's kids to D&D using White Box version of S&W. Often, the rule book offers options for the DM (like the elf, DEX AC bonus, etc.). I would like to create my own version of the Core Rules for my campaign (call it House Rules) that clarify these for my players (and myself)
1) Am I allowed to do that? 2) Is there a MS-Word or OpenOffice version of the Core Rules available?

You can edit the document for your own use, no problem. You can even publish the results if you'uns follow some simple rules. Go here for the doc versions of Core and White Box: www.swordsandwizardry.com/?page_id=18

Thank you, that is perfect! I knew of that page, I just missed it. I am making my own version of Michael Shorten's Quick Start Rules, to reflect the White Box and my house rulings. I will post it in PDF and WORD once I'm done so that others can borrow and modify.

OK, I have done a 12-page White Box Quick Start for players (will work on the DM version this week). Anybody wanting a copy, please contact me via PM with an email address and I will send it along. If anybody knows where I could host it easily (perhaps Mythmere Games web site may want to?) please let me know.
