This advertisement was in the first issue of The Dragon I ever purchased, #49. I wanted this product but never got around to buying it, and now I can find no information on it at all. I would very much like to locate a copy, so if you know anything about these drawings or where to find them now, I would love to hear about it.

The only review of these I ever saw was in Sorceror's Apprentice by Flying Buffalo. It wasn't very favorable, and I believe the reviewer was Liz Danforth (Maybe it wasn't) one of the main artists of Flying Buffalo. Personally I think I draw better than this, so it would be a waste of money for me. But if this is one of those items your inner gamer yearns for, by all means enjoy!

It's not really a matter of needing them for gaming purposes so much as sentimental value ... I enjoy picking up gaming products I wanted as a kid but couldn't afford or never got. That said, I would find a use for them.

Something like this, even if not well drawn could be inspirational. And having old school inspiration would certainly be fun.

Something about those pics strikes me as cool. Maybe it's the fact that I too remember them from the ads, maybe it's the fact that the illustrator is simply striving to inspire potential DMs. While they may be of little or no artistic value, I too like those little buggers and will be interested in seeing if Driver has any success in tracking down these particular add-ons.
This old school product is close to inspiring me to devise some reasonable facsimile of 'inspirational room sketches'. I'm by no means a talented illustrator, but it might be a fun project to take on.
Sounds like a good project for Fight On! as a matter of fact.

I'd ask over at the Acaeum as well, but they don't seem to accept registration from gmail addresses.

Your better bet would be to comb through the items @ www.afterglow2.com/ and ask a question at the Tome of Treasures @ www.tomeoftreasures.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=963 both of which are more focused on non-TSR than TSR stuff (while the Acaeum has a lot of support for non-TSR, those two sites offer more explicit research info). You should also be able to register at the Acaeum via gmail---I'm there, and that's my primary email (although it wasn't when I first registered, so perhaps it's been changed since). In any event, if you're having problems, email me and I'll email Scott the site admin and let him know you're having issues.

Thanks, Allan. I'll check out those sites after I take a nap and may take you up on your offer to e-mail the Acaeum admin ... I'd like to be registered there if for no other reason than to stay subscribed to the Judges Guild eBay threads.

Wow, those do look neat. I'd snatch up a copy in an instant if I ran across it. It reminds me of the handout that came with Tomb of Horrors. It would be cool to do something like this and make it available as PDF. I'm adding that to my list of "cool things to do some day".
