So if brave halfling not doing what box anymore, who is taking it over?
Also great line from last nights game, can I regurgitate the potion in the gnome mouth...
I never had to rule on that before.
Anyways just wondering if the future of having more just for white box things coming out. I am currently running hellstone(amazing product) fine with WB but I do not know... I wonder the power curve. Plus I thought there was more adventures in the line up and a screen.

Brave Halfling is still making the box--they're just not going to go on sale until November. John has "real life" commitments that need attended.
As far as a screen goes... I don't think it's necessary, but I could make one. Until then, I know ChicagoWiz has started allowing his Ready Ref sheets to be sold again--he has one for the WB.

it is always those darn real life things that bite you
I hope all goes well with him, I truly think the white box I bought from John has to be the best thing the OSR has made.
are those up at rpgnow again. I bought a set of those a while back and went looking for more from him again. They come in really handy.

I think they may just be the Core one's so far. He's slowly re-releasing his stuff, not doing it all at once.

Hey velvetlinedbox, I'm relocating my family to take a new job that starts Sept. 1, so I've had to put some things on hold but I'll be back pushing WB very soon.

Ironic. The Whitebox was written to be a "box only without the supplements" and now people are asking when we get supplements.

Ironic. The Whitebox was written to be a "box only without the supplements" and now people are asking when we get supplements. The desire for supplements is a hard habit to break, especially when there's so much precedent for it within the hobby. After all, even the original White Box had a supplement published for it within a year of its release.

Well, and my first and foremost task with WB is to make sure the boxed set is a fantastic little boxed set. I learned a great deal (about production, shipping, etc.) with the first print run of the WB Boxed Set in 2010 and I am already working on plans for the 2nd print run this fall.

You deserve a f'in medal for 1)not killing someone during that whole process and 2)for getting it done and 3)for hiring my fav artist.

Ironic. The Whitebox was written to be a "box only without the supplements" and now people are asking when we get supplements. I certainly don't feel the *need* for supplements, but I'd like to see some! ;D The main thing is I prefer the WB's emphasis on the D6, and it's cap on spell levels, etc. I just think it truly nails the "sweet spot" of the OD&D rules- whereas the S&W core rules adds so little supplemental material that it doesn't have nearly the same impact that GH did on the LBBs (and most likely was not designed with that in mind either, but..) Hard to explain- suffice to say, I just like that "tighter" set of rules in the S&W/WB (not to mention a better layout-easier on the eyes than the S&W CR).

Though I don't use S&W for my home campaign, I completely understand the appeal of using a tighter, less complex base set of rules and then expanding from there as needed rather than starting off with the rules "pre-expanded," if you catch my meaning. It's the same reason why I'd rather play OD&D + Supplements over AD&D -- there's an assumption with the former that not everything in all the Supplements will be used and that the referee will pick and choose as he desires, whereas AD&D brings with it the presumption that everything not explicitly labeled "optional" will be on the table.

I like supplements to read through. Just like why I troll so many blogs. Read fight on. Just try to find things to add to my game to make just a little more, but keep out everything I do not like.
