Ah, the joys of intra-party conflict. Not wanting to railroad the party, I decided to let them do what they wanted and find out what happens along with them. A lot of these sessions didn't go the way I thought they would. Anyway, here's the next session of the "In Search of the Unknown" campaign....

Session #9
Tig goes to the town of Providence Ridge and gets hirelings - Silas the dwarven thief, Serenus the elven cleric, and Bones the gnomish sorcerer. He takes the group back to Quasqueton, where he sees something different about the corpses at the top of the intersection. He notices that there's something different with the dead magic user's robes. Examining them, he finds a note there. It was a badly handwritten scrawl that mentioned knowing where "the girl" is and wanted the party to kill the gnolls staying in a nearby room in exchange for information about her. Tig pondered the situation.
Farned awakened to find himself in a room filled with fungi and spores, lit only by patches of fluorescent moss. Making a loincloth of his tattered clothes, he fashioned a pouch out of the rest and gathered mushrooms (of course) from the room. Deciding to leave the room, he felt his way along the darkened corridor until he entered a door. Upon opening it, he saw two females who gasped at his nearly naked form. Frightened by his appearance, the two fled from him, screaming.
The noisy flight of the two ladies caught the ear of Tig and his hirelings, as they tried to reassure them. Deciding to go back and confront "the pervert," Tig felt he knew where Farned as.
Delva had finished his knightly cleansing and returned to Quasqueton shortly after Tig and company left the intersection. During his night in the woods, the elven knight experienced a pleasant surprise. His faithful horse Trigger had returned to him! All of the possessions, save the saddle were gone, though, but a satchel was tied to the side of the horse. Upon opening the satchel, he found some loose change as well as a map of a city. He heard a door close to the south but also a scratching sound to the east. Upon investigating the scattering sound, he found it to be a giant rat, unconcerned about his appearance. Disregarding the rat, Delva turned to sound of the closing door, and making his way along a corridor, busted through a locked door.
The sound of the busting door drew Tig's attention, and he and Delva were reacquainted. After introductions, the party wanted to get to Farned. Farned, slipping on a bench in the dark, hit the floor hard. It would have caused him some damage, but it provoked a rage that sent him into a frenzy, triggering a transformation into the wereboar. Delva tried to kill the wereboar once again, but the door was held by Bones' magic. Use of Bigby's Forceful Hand from the scroll they had found proved to keep the wereboar at bay as well. Using the benches in the room as a shield caused Delva to give up trying to shoot flaming arrows at Farned, so he then began hammering copper coins between the door and the frame.
Tig, growing tired of intraparty conflict, decided to try to find the two ladies and Serenus, who fled in fear at the sight of Farned's wereboar form. Following a corridor which spiraled inward, Tig at last came to the innermost room which contained a sword and some gems. Sensing something behind him, he noticed a partially decayed body seemingly suspended in air. He then noticed that it was held in a large, quivering mass of gelatinous matter, matter that was rushing towards him. Tig's dwarven legs ran as fast as they could take him, and somehow, it proved to be enough to outrun the oozing monstrosity.
