I don't normally read Realms of Fantasy but the April issue had a cool story called “The Fortuitous Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Oludara” by Chris Kastensmidt that sounds like the beginning of a great S&S series. The author has a website set up but the story isn't available there: www.eamb.org/
