BTW, I have not yet had Yhency run into anybody he can dicuss oozes with. About henchmen. These men could probably be convinced to be henchmen - make them an offer. If they accept - voila, they are level 1 fighting men. Okay, gotcha. "Gentlemen, if you wish to join my inner circle and follow at my side as I continue to travel into the upper echelons of adventuring fame, I offer you each 10% of everything I earn, so if my share of the treasure is 1000 gp - and it was more last time - than you each personally get 100 gold. Also you get 20 gold as a signing bonus. Does this sound reasonable?" Yhency will next advertise for a cleric, a magic-user, and a thief to round out his merry band of henchmen.

Assuming the two men sign on, just to make it easy for you Makofan, their names are Flinn and Westbrook. What equipment do they have to start?

Kell is still hanging out in the tap room drinking ale and chatting with any, and every, one. He's asking about dwarven hangouts, news of the city, information about the "spider problem" and listening to local gossip and such.

Is everybody moving to the Singing Mountain Inn? Patronus and Kell have no money and would have to exist on charity?

@kell You have heard that the following are dwarven hangouts: The Red Axe Ale House, The Staggerin Drag Inn. Which would you like to check out?

@yhency - Your offer is a bit low, but you are charismatic, but you are an elf, but the men are brave - we'll roll the dice and see what happens...
Westbrook accepts your offer - he is equipped with chain, shield and sword. I've heard that elves can't die, so I think this should be a successful partnership
Flinn is not too sure. "I'd want 100 gold up front before I go adventuring against nasty critters, and if we can't get along after the first adventuring sojourn, I'm out of here"

@gallaine You head to the sword maker. Shihon le Shorack is the proprietor, and he is helped by three craftsmen. He does not seem to have many swords in stock, but what he does have look pretty good. Understanding Gallaine's quest for elegance combined with functionality, he offers her a nice sabre with filigrees "10 gold pieces, same as my regular swords. It's a beauty - graceful but deadly.

@flandil @jariel
The two of you plus body guards head to the Mage Shop. Aranthol is not happy to find you have come up with a cheaper spell book, and takes a long time to fill the mage's order. He does grudgingly accept the platinum bracelet as payment though. You spend the next few hours ferrying a vast quantity of supplies to the Ale House

"Perfect," exclaims Gallaine, and happily pays 10gp for the sword. She wears the scabbard strapped about her waist. Finally, before she heads back to the Singing Mountain Inn with her new adventuring gear, she goes in search of a shield to replace the one that was smashed by the Goblin Bigpig.

After Mathan has all the supplies he needs, Flandil considers leaving one of his bodyguards to protect Mathan, but then decides that he may get in the way and in any case a tavern full of dwarves ought to be enough. He buys them another round of drinks on his way out.
Flandil then heads over to the Happy Lady Bath House (with Jariel if we wants) for some pampering and relaxation (Flandil will pay for Jariel, as promised), before returning to the Singing Mountain Inn to check in with Yhency and will find there some other of his comrades.
"If we're heading down into the sewers we may as well be ostensibly hired by one of the groups around here, at least we'll have a little advantage right off the top. Was the Spider Temple able to provide us with any protection against spider venom?" Flandil asks. ((OOC: I forget ;D))

Patronus paid a quick visit to the temple, where they basically said they were looking for help

Gallaine goes looking for a shield maker, and finds one right across from the mercenary outlet. Kalenel the Cross is a slave driver - literally. His five sons help him run the shop, where most of the work is done by goblin slaves. He sells shields of all shapes, sizes, colors, designs and materials

Is everybody moving to the Singing Mountain Inn? Patronus and Kell have no money and would have to exist on charity? Kell is. He has accepted the kind offer for his expenses to be paid. However, Kell will try to handle his own bar tab as he doesn't want to bankrupt his benefactor.

I just realized that Freddie had 2400 gold pieces when he died. Did the party want to split it 8 ways and get 300 more gold pieces each?

No need to rush things, one must enjoy life's little perquisites."I just realized that Freddie had 2400 gold pieces when he died. Did the party want to split it 8 ways and get 300 more gold pieces each? Sounds good to me!

I just realized that Freddie had 2400 gold pieces when he died. Did the party want to split it 8 ways and get 300 more gold pieces each? Sure. William is pondering the hiring of henchmen. And after that, he'll go over to the Spider Temple and see what's up with the situation, their need for help, and that sort of thing.

OCC.that's fine for some but does not help get the poor dwarf or the new cleric into the same inn as the rest of the group unless the feel charitable. As the cleric does not offer Patronus a roof, he heads out to find the rest of the party

That 300 gold pieces was sort of meant for the two newbies. If not, split 6 ways is 400 gold each. Up to the party

Jariel is cool with letting the two new recruits have a share of Freddie's loot assuming he didn't have any next of kin arrangements.

Oh, well, if you're asking for that kind of cash up front then you must have some experience. My apologies for mistaking you as a new recruit! Please do provide your references, and I'll check them out as soon as I can." Yhency is also fine with splitting the 2400 with the new characters as well. We can't have part of the party staying in the nice inn and the rest not.

OCC. thank you all for the funds.
Patronus gets a room at the same inn as the rest of the group. HE spends a chunk of time at the bath House with some comely lasses and getting clean.
he buys some holt water from the temple.
He looks for a large fishing net and 100 large fish hooks.
He lets the cleric know where he will be staying.
(man it's fun having some money to work with).

He is interested in heading over to the dwarven bar and checking in with his own people, so once he's checked into the Singing Mountain Inn that's what he does.
