Encounter with the Carrion Crawler
Account of Combat Olaf and Victor fled the Giant and entered the Ogres' Keep again from the ravine floor. Working their way up toward the surface they chanced upon a loathsome Carrion Crawler. The pair fought boldly and were very nearly undone. Victor was paralysed before Olaf managed a fateful stab with his sword, slaying the foul thing.

Encounter with Conjured Fiends
Account of Combat Descending through the Ogre's Keep in search of Olaf and Victor, and a means of escaping the Giant above, Dieter foolishly triggered a trap of conjuration. FIFTEEN grotesque fiends were bought forth from the realms of fire to give battle to the company, and battle was given in return!
There was little thought for strategy, and a swirling melee resulted. Fortunately the fiends were easily slain -- but unfortunately they exploded in a fireball when vanquished! Dieter, Pelenwin, Desmond and Gustave were all incapacitated in the fighting, and poor Mads was brutally slain.
At the last gasp the fiends were vanquished, and the company left victorious. Barely.
Treasure Won None.
Award 300 XP to each of Dieter, Ulric, Gustave, Pelenwin, Wibert, Highbough and Desmond.

Encounter with the Troglodyte
Account of Combat Olaf was hauling Victor through the dungeon in a fireman's lift owing to his having been paralysed in the last encounter. This alone was bad. When Olaf was surprised by a Troglodyte it got worse. Initially Olaf thought he had the better of the monster, but a couple of unlucky rolls later and he was helpless and at its mercy. Only by a miracle saving throw did Victor break the paralysis just in time to skull the monster from behind before it gutted Olaf.

Encounter with the Reanimated Prisoner
Account of Combat Dorgan, Josiane, Mads II and Percy were about the business of breaking and entering Trader Grumolg's warehouse. They happened upon an apparent meat-locker in the back where one of the grisly corpses had a horrid un-life within it yet! It fought with insane vigour to tear out Dorgan's throat, and he endured a chilling claw wound before Josiane put her mentor's sword through its back and chest from behind, ending it.

Encounter with Unknown Foe
Account of Combat As the company ascended the stair to the Ogres' Den, they were strung out in a single file, with only a lantern illuminating the way forward from the front. Ill luck saw some unknown enemy ambush the rear of the company. Alas, Boris was dragged off into the dark and never seen again.

Encounter with Goblin & Two-Headed Mastiff
Account of Combat Dorgan, Josiane, Mads II and Percy entered Grumolg's pavilion where the two-headed guard dog's barking summoned a Goblin care-taker. He unpinned the dog's chain and to keep the four busy while he made good his escape.
Percy was mauled after wounding the dog with a crossbow bolt, but in the end a stout door was shut between the company and the beast.

Encounter with Warg Riders
Account of Combat Marching back from the gate-houses to Ket on empty stomachs, the company detected a patrol of twelve Warg-riders split into two groups of half a dozen each; one group on either side of a stream.
The party cleverly set a trap of spilled silver and ambushed the first group; most of the riders, and several of the company being sent to an ensorcelled sleep by Ulric's magic. Pelenwin was incapacitated in the fighting, but the second group of riders watched the party slaughter their fellows and then fled the scene.
All told, three Wargs and five Hobgoblins were slain. Nine Wargs and seven Hobgoblins fled the scene.
Treasure Won In the way of rations, the Hobgoblins had a heel of hard grey bread, a fist sized wheel of gnawed stinky cheese, a dead frog, and a 1ft long snake with its head bitten off.
As to wealth, the Hobgoblin purses contained a total of 18 silver and 37 copper coins. One of the Wargs wore a coin-sized iron token upon a leather collar.
Award 192 XP to each of Olaf, Dieter, Ulric, Gustave, Pelenwin, Wibert, Highbough and Desmond.

Account of Proceedings The company returned from a 10 day expedition in the wilds. Many that set out did not return, but those that made it home brought with them sacks full of loot, and new friends.
The spoils in coin were divided evenly among the adventurers. The possession of several noteworthy items is yet to be allocated.

The Game has Reached SEVEN THOUSAND Posts!
All ye most able players may have noted some time back (while you were *cough* "relaxing" in Ket) that our little game has surpassed the impressive 7,000 posts mark without the traditional XP award for your continued persistence.
I decided not to grant the award while folks were busy leveling up, and subsequently forgot all about it. Now it's catch up time!
Award 7,000 XP split between all present players.
That equates to 636 XP each for Olaf, Dieter, Ulric, Gustave, Highbough, Desmond, Josiane, Dorgan and Guntram.
Pelenwin and Wibert have (sadly) just been added to the ranks of the fallen, but as both Tombowings and Braveheart have been busy contributors since the beginning of the game I'll apply their rewards (636 XP apiece) to their next PCs as soon as they enter the game.

A Tombfull of Walking Corpses
Account of Combat The entire company, Dieter, Olaf, Ulric, Gustave, Wibert, Pelenwin, Highbough, Desmond, Dorgan, Josiane and Guntrum entered a tomb in pursuit of a rumoured Vampyeer, but instead found themselves beset by an Unholy horde of shambling corpses that would not stay dead! Not until Ulric put them to the torch with a furious ball of sorcerous fire, that is.
Treasure Won None.
Award 209 XP Dieter, Olaf, Ulric, Gustave, Wibert, Pelenwin, Highbough, Desmond, Dorgan, Josiane and Guntrum.

Josiane, Dorgan and Guntrum joined during the course of the year and receive 300XP for their worthy contributions. And Wendel has just now joined and gets 100XP for his exquisite timing
