Since combat occurs often, a couple of points:
Normally, non-magical healing is 1 hit point per day of rest, modified by any Constitution modifiers. Characters with negative CON modifiers gain no healing for a number of days equal to his or her negative modifier, after which the usual 1 hp/day comes into effect. Regardless, full healing never takes more than 30 days.
HOWEVER, a character may (once per day) bind his wounds, which grants 1d4 points of healing to that character.
There are other non-magical means to restore hit points as well, but they require a visit to a chirurgeon or similar person and so won't have much impact on the campaign at present.
