Wooo. Very interesting. So tempting . . .
Will you look at the fantastic condition of the book???!!!
I really dislike the anonymous bidding thing that eBay recently put into place.
Durn, I don't play the Lotto, but I suddenly feel like going out to buy a ticket.

Hmmm, if I buy it and drive up to Lake Geneva and ask Gary to sign it, I might be able to recoup my costs later ~ and then perhaps afford to send my daughter to college!! ;D
Is Brian Blume still alive?

It's almost as nice as my copy I really dislike the anonymous bidding thing that eBay recently put into place. Me too. If something other than eBay was viable, I'd use it after they pulled that idiocy.

Is Brian Blume still alive? Yep, still lives/works in LG, and even attended LGGC#1 IIRC.

Well, pretty exciting auction. I sweated and took deep breaths and almost plunged in at about $270.00. Looks like a few huge bumps in bids. Sure wish this supplement was available on PDF! ;D

Finally sold for $575 and clearly too rich for my wallet.

Somebody just sold one of these over at DF. Asking price was $505 + shipping. Seller didn't mention final price.

Sigh. Another Warriors of Mars comes and goes on e-bay. I went in with my sister and we pooled together $300 but someone else outbid us in the final 15 seconds. I was that close to finally acquiring one.... :-(

I was that close to finally acquiring one.... :-( *meh*... feel for you on that one, Fin'. I'd've been lower this time around but I'm on about 12-15 attempts to pick up a copy in recent times thus far, having chased up from the $80-120 that they used to cost until a few years back and missed several others - including being beaten by the same person three times, a copy at $40 when I was buying various items from the same private seller for good money (including a $200-250 "round up" on one purchase) and someone picked that up when another person told them that was all it was worth , another (mint) at $60 where I actually made the purchase but that had to be refunded as the bookseller system glitched and it had relisted after being sold 30 minutes earlier, and not to mention the recent one at $9.95 BIN on eBay that I missed totally (obviously). Some day, maybe...

Sure. My usual gaming group is my sister, wife, son, daughter, and a few (non relative) friends.
My sister plays but doesn't care much about rules. However, she sometimes invests in game stuff for me in hopes that I will be inspired to run games more often. As far as I know she's never read ERB's Barsoom, but if WOM leads to a cool game scenario she is interested...

Wow, David: a $10 BIN on one. I missed that one too. Who found it?---Brian?

Yeah, seeing something about a $10 BIN makes me want to sit down and cry.
Well, maybe someday someone will start making pirate duplicates of this thing, flood the market, and we can all buy copies for $10. Just wishful thinking.

Darn. Made another attempt on a copy of Warriors of Mars on e-bay and this time pushed it up to $350 before I had to bail out. I just can't commit more than this. :-(
Maybe next time! :-)

So close, Fin! Make sure you are sniping or using sniping software for your bidding.

I don't have any sniping software. I usually wait until the last few minutes and place my bid then.

If you're going manual, make sure you put your final bid in at the last minute. This has a nice knock on effect of pinning you to what your original price point is in that you won't have enough time to raise it more if you get outbid in the final seconds.
I typically put my final bids in, if I'm around, with less than 30 seconds remaining.

nev's software (he's over on the Acaeum) is pretty good, I hear, although I haven't gotten around to using it myself yet....

(Y'could always try having a word with Steven (red_bus) on the Acaeum as he has multiple copies and what with the current exchange rate...).

(Y'could always try having a word with Steven (red_bus) on the Acaeum as he has multiple copies and what with the current exchange rate...). Well, I'd kind of like one in decent shape for that kind of money. (I know, to a "true" collector the really good ones are really up there in price.) It's just that I've seen a xerox copy so it's having the book that's more important than the material itself. I may contact Steven to see if he'd part with one...

Spent more than I should, but it's in excellent condition (according to the seller)!

Are you going to scan this work and produce a PDF for your archives? Just curious.

Actually, I had a xerox copy which I got from a fellow gamer years ago and I had already typed it into a Word doc. After all these years I just wanted the real thing. :-)

What I've found (sadly) is that the price has slowly been getting higher instead of lower. (Duh!) So I figured if I wanted one I should buy one sooner rather than later. It was a heck of a lot more than I wanted to pay, but I've wanted one for 25 years so I decided to go for it....
