When we come to a place where we can pause for a yóm (1 1/2 minutes), I will check the "eggs" for damage or signed of hatching.

"It seems we are to go downstream after all?" says Teregash, in a self-satisfied voice.

Are there any noticable air currents here?

Trinesh checks with the lantern boys on the status of the oil in their lanterns and praises them for their courage.

As the party moves downstream, Trinesh is also checking for traps and hidden doors.

Trinesh checks with the lantern boys on the status of the oil in their lanterns and praises them for their courage. Good idea. If anyone is still carrying lit torches, maybe we should conserve them. I have a lantern and 3 flasks of oil. What is the status on lantern/torches with the rest of the team?

OOC: Hredarru has 10 unused resin torches, a fire maker, and three flasks of oil I was hoping to use against bad guys. Consider the torches available if the need should arise, and the oil in a pinch.

OCC: Good Lord, man! Whatever you do, don't light a match!
I consider my question regarding light sources answered.

Hrahyosh also carries a lantern but it is not lit now. He had 5 refills in his pack. He probably used one or so, back at the warehouse when we were guarding the entry into the Tsuru'um.

OCC: The bad thing about online gaming is living in a country where the internet goes down more times in a single day than in several years in more civilized nations. Do'olnar checks that the eggs are intact and no baby-dlaqo have emerged as of yet. The slave boys smile meekly at Trinesh' compliment, so far the youths seem to be holding their own as well as can be expected. The party heads back downstream eventually passing by, and leaving behind the passage that lead them to the sewer. No one has felt any noticeable air drafts and Trinesh checks the route for hidden passages or traps; finding none and slowing the progression of the party. After walking downstream about twice the distance that took you from the tunnel to the collapsed section of the sewer everyone notices small growths of a purplish-white fungus-like plant growing on the walls on your side. The damp odor that you felt when arriving at the sewer is stronger here. Suddenly a sound comes from up ahead, rising above the soft trickling of the water. It comes and goes and reminds you of someone snoring. About 60 feet away, on your side of the platform is a crouched shape. The noise appears to come from it but the party is too far away to discern any details.

I tell the slave boys that I will get each of them a kaitar for their good work when we get back.

Did I mention fungi in the tsuru'úmikh that can kill more speedily than a flying arrow? Beware the patches of fungus, Do'olnar whispers.

We may want to move to the other side of the tunnel if, as I understand, no fungi grows there. If we expect combat, Do'olnar will throw a dagger then move aside to let the warriors past.

Do'olnar makes shushing gestures to Trinesh. Now is not the time to offer bounties. Now is the time to ready jars of oil for throwing, as he will do if he can reach one silently.

Hard to tell, but it is not enormous. It might be a particularly large man crouched down to sleep.

Hrahyosh quietly offers. "I suggest we move to the other side of the corridor. Nothing good ever comes from purple colored vegetation/fungus. Probably full of things that would shoot out and kill folks fool enough to walk through it. Plus, perfect trap for this chap to be feigning sleep, and once we get in the middle of the fungus field to start lobbing bricks or rubble into the purple stuff. Or whatever it takes to set them off..."

How far does the fungus extend toward the creature?
Trinesh gets a flask of oil out to have it ready to throw or use.
Trinesh will be ready to move across the stream quietly if possible and once over downstream as quietly as possible.

Issa carefully tests the depth of the water here with her spear to see how easily we can move across.

Teregash also readies a flask of oil to pass to Trinesh. "If we are to set the thing on fire we should do it before it wakes."

If the form is a puffball or similar fungus, fire may not be what we want, Do'olnar whispers. I once saw a teqéqmu (flying, blimp-like beast) struck by a flaming arrow and the cloud of spores it released killed dozens.

So, possibly we could use the time to plan our attack? I'd like to know how thick the fungus gets as it approaches the form. While the form could be a fungus covered shape or large puffball, I'll admit there is some chance of it being a monster who could sleep through all of our approach and wake to attack us. Still, I think it more likely that hitting it or throwing oil on it will release a lot of black-lung, death-dealing, flesh-rotting spores. Any suggestions on how to go about this?
