A couple updates. 1. Work on the first sourcebook, Monstrous Mayhem is progressing at breakneck speed. Lots still to do, but it's coming along well and is going to be jam-packed with cool stuff. 2. The Fiendish Dr. Samsara has the first fan/campaign site up for the game, which looks great! Some cool house rules there as well. link here

Thanks, Jason. I keep saying, but it bears repeating, that House Ruling is an essential; part of the game IMO and doesn't indicate anything against the brilliant authour.
I've got a few other ideas percolating, like a different way to do Exceptional Strength and Elite Paths, but we'll see.

Well, we're getting close to editing and layout for Monstrous Mayhem. I've just started in on the text for tourney rules (no not tournament play as in AD&D; tourneys as in jousting). I have the sword (or flail/mace/whatever you like) rules done, and still need to finish jousting, archery and sorcerous rules. After that I finish up the new monsters and it goes to Tim for proofing and editing suggestions. Then I'll revise, track down artwork, lay the sucker out and it'll be up for sale. I'm hoping not too long, though my miserable-ass new day job has forbidden us to work on personal projects, even when there is nothing else to do, so that cuts into my ability to be fast with it.
Still, I have an interview for a position at my old company on Monday. I'm desperately hoping it works out. Then life should be back to normal, somewhat. At least, I hope.

I've hit a snag on the sorcery contest rules. The only way I can think to do it is to include (optional) rules for wizards to perform minor magical tricks, or legerdemain. Will need to kick it around a bit.

Anything you want to discuss and debate upon?

I'll let you know. Work has been hellish lately, so I've not had time to sit down with it. That will all be changing when I get my new job offer later this week and quit, however

Okay, the manuscript for MM is just about done. The draft should (theoretically) wrap tomorrow and go to Tim for review and comments. Matt, I know you haven't had much opportunity to actually USE those test rules yet, but if you have any comments I'd love to hear them. Drop an e-mail to elflair@grey-elf.com and let me know.

Hi Grey Elf,
You might know this already, but jrients had some simple mageduel rules in Fight On! #1 that might be worth looking at sometime.
Also, FO! would welcome contributions relating to your game assuming your licensing etc. permits it. Perhaps a review for starters, if you know someone who'd like to submit one.

I keep meaning to check out Fight On! and keep not getting to it. As soon as I have a regular paycheck flowing again, it's at the top of my list.
I'd be glad to open up S&S for support in Fight On!, but there's one or two things I'd want to make sure I'm covered on, first. Can we talk over e-mail? Grab me at elflair@grey-elf.com.

It's done. I spoke to Calithena and FO! is cleared to publish information, reviews, adventures and articles related to S&S. I've asked him to check with me before publishing any new rules subsystems or monsters to ensure that we don't have something similar in the works (protecting both my interests and the fans from copyright accusations down the road). But if anyone wants to submit S&S material to Fight On!, go for it.

Man, I'm building up a bunch of stuff for my Underland dungeon. But I can't put it out there until my players encounter it.
