I'd be interested in running one if there were people interested in playing and it was cool with Fin. Probably I would steer it a little in the direction of Holmes Basic (thieves OK, very minor modifiers for good attribute scores) and I might do a very slight gradation of weapon damage (daggers 1d4, staves & one-handed weapons 1d6, two-handed weapons 2d4 or 1d10) just because I think you should get something for not carrying the shield.
What say ye? I'll be on vacation for the second half of July but other than that don't see any special problems with this.
The only problem with Holmes Basic is that it really doesn't fit the concept of these boards, which is the brown-book OD&D edition. There are lots of boards that do "classic" D&D, which includes Holmes, Moldvay/Cook, Mentzer, and other editions. I'm not sure at what point we stray away from the purpose of this Forum.
If a Forum game does take place, it should really be using book rules.
Also, if a Forum game does take place, I would want to be certain that it has its own section for posting.

I hadn't looked at them yet, will do so later this week!
Enjoy Italy---we had a blast there last summer! Siena was probably our favorite stop, although Rome was spectacular, too. If you're looking for any input for your trip, shoot me an email and I'd be happy to assist if possible
