Anyone here ever seen the Mythica series? I stumbled upon them via Amazon Prime and eventually ended up buying the DVD set. They're DTV fantasy films, and they're D&D through and through. While they're not on the level of, say, Lord of the Rings, they keep up with any high quality TV series out there. Kevin Sorbo is amusing as the Gandalf-like figure in the film, though actually he's a bit more like Allanon from Shannara. The writing is solid, the story engaging and fun (if more than a little derivative), and the characters well done. And yes, the adventuring party that comes together in the first film includes a fighter, magic user, thief, and cleric. And they deal with the differences between arcane and divine magic. It quite literally is a D&D film series with the serial numbers filed off (and some interesting additions, like the way necromancy works). In any case, if you've been waiting for a good D&D movie, the Mythica series will scratch the itch. The only one I wasn't crazy about was the 4th one, which deviates powerfully from the rest in tone and introduces steampunk elements which, while fun, don't jibe with the tone of the rest. Here's the website for anyone who is interested. Like I said, it's on Amazon Prime for free viewing, and there's a 5-disc DVD set available for purchase. www.mythicamovie.com/
