IIRC you can acquire many of the old Goldbox D&D games over at GOG.

Very fun. Those primitive graphics make the boardgame look far more appealing, though.

I took out the link to the Dark Sun game since it is currently available commercially --- Yikes. Sorry about linking to that then. Thought archive.org was safe as you can experience the software via emulation running on their machine. SaveSave

have played the alquadin, menzoberanzan, ravenloft I and II, dark sun I and II, eye of the beholder 1-2-3, and a couple of dragonlance ones. just loved those games. but i have no idea if i would still want to play them, as time change our game experiences

I loved the Ravenloft games as a youngster, but I find it very, very hard to get back into them - as with most of those "faux 3D" crawlers, from the German "Northland" games to "Might & Magic". Some games from the era hold up better; these don't. In comparison, "Arcana" and "Shining in the Darkness" - same game principles, but condensed engine and graphics - still play fairly well. There is one old D&D game that I love like none other, though: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_%26_Magic - played that back and forth as a kid. Strange that I never connected with FR beyond that, because this was surely one of my favorite games.

i remembered to suffer from a severe glitch in Stone prophet (the ravenloft one in har'akir). somehow, i got thru a wall and ended up in ankhtepot chamber, but i didnt have the power yet to defeat him. so i just kept running and running!
