Perez queries the ship's computer regarding the transponder irregularities: has anything even vaguely like this ever been seen? You might want to have Professor Albert Durh do the searching for you, he has Computer-3. I've added some of your research notes into the Google Doc as well as Professor Albert Durh and Lukasz Malewski. Someone should assign them a cabin (they are sharing). OOC: I seem to have lost track of the ship deckplans for this game. Could you supply a link?

"Sounds good to me," says Zeb. "I don't trust those guys." "In our current state I think staying away from them is our play." Logan says, "Can we get down to the surface of Bastinadi before they get into ship weapons range? If we can that's what we should do." OOC: I guess we could mount an smg in one of our hardpoints and try to shoot them, if we had to. The slugs might do some damage if their ship was going fast enough and they happened to run into them. Maybe a natural 12 for us and a 2 for them... If I have done my math right, the Vargr ship will arrive at Bastinadi 20 ship combat turns (20 1000 second turns) before you do. You arrived in system about 960,000 km out (100 diameters from Size 6 world). You picked the Vargr up on sensors when you were 680,000 km out, they were 600,000 km from you, and 1,050,000 km out from Bastinadi. They seem to be decelerating at 2-G. You have not reached the half way point of your trip in from 100 diameters, so you are still accelerating. I show that at 2-G deceleration, they will take 102 combat turns to arrive. You will take 53 combat turns to reach the half way point and 69 combat turns to decelerate the rest of the distance. If you are more than 50,000 km from them, they have a -5 targeting (I'm still looking for max range for laser fire - may have to check Mayday). You reach 50,000 km of Bastinadi at 100 turns (2 turns before they arrive) so I'm pretty sure you don't come within 50,000 km of them until after they arrive at Bastinadi. They could play tricks to engage you at closer range sooner... Frank

Okay, we have 7 crew and 2 working passage (Durh & Malewski). The 2 working passages can share a passenger stateroom, but we still have a problem with cabins. You have allocated 2 staterooms and 2 half staterooms for 7 people. We can double up on the two full staterooms, but doubling a half stateroom is gonna be a problem. So, I strongly propose that one of the passenger staterooms, or the Hunter's Suite, be allocated for crew use. Leaving the Hunter's Suite open allows it to be used for cargo. So, as Steward I propose we allocate the following staterooms for crew, and suggest who bunks where: - 7 Upper (Full sized: 2 crew) (Pilot, Navigator)
- 8 Upper (Half sized: 1 crew) (Auxiliary)
- 1 Lower (Full sized: 1 crew) (Medic, Steward)
- 19 Upper (Full sized: 2 crew) (Security, Auxiliary)
- 20 Upper (Half sized: 1 crew) (Engineer)
- 5 Lower (Passenger Durh & Malewski)
- 5 Upper (Passenger)
- 6 Upper (Passenger)
- 17 Upper (Passenger)
- 18 Upper (Passenger)
This is just my suggestion, of course. If you hate my suggestions and have other ideas I won't be insulted if you jump right in and say so.

The Hunter's Suite isn't usable for cargo... It's the lounge that can be used for 7 tons of cargo.

We do need a decision about the staterooms. Either 3 or us are going to have to share one stateroom or we're going to have to use a passenger cabin for crew. If I have this wrong tell me and I'll shut up.

So you have 11 staterooms, 2 are 1/2 staterooms and can only be single occupancy. You have 8 PCs, Professor Duhr and Lukasz Malewski sharing a room, and 3 high passengers (plus 1 low passenger). After taking care of Professor Duhr and Lukasz Malewski sharing a room, and 3 high passengers, you have 5 full staterooms (2 are designated crew) and 2 1/2 staterooms to fit your 8 crew into. The Hunter's Suite is one of the counted staterooms. So two crew members will have to double up (we had figured the stateroom availability before makofan rejoined...). If you go with full doubling up of crew, you could have 6 staterooms available for passengers. If you only double up 2 crew, I suggest the co-captains get the full staterooms off the bridge. If you do full doubling up, I'd either have the co-captains double up in the Hunter's Suite or they each take one of the 1/2 staterooms. Since you will likely usually be using the lounge for cargo, you don't really have much of a commons area, so one option would be to re-arrange the Hunter's Suite to have some space for commons and bunk the steward there. I'm assuming it has re-configurable furniture, probably something like a sleeper sofa and some lounge furniture. With that in mind, I would use the lower deck staterooms as crew staterooms since you will usually have cargo down there. There would be some space for a crew lounge down there amidst the cargo.

As Steward, I don't have a problem sleeping on a sleeper sofa in the Hunter's Suite while it's mostly used as a crew commons. However, I'm for full doubling up of crew to give us more passenger cabins. Put the Co-Captains in the 1/2 staterooms and everyone else double up, and if we still need to put someone in the Hunter's Suite on a sofa, put Logan there.
