Raizenbrayne watches the clouds go by as he thinks back fondly on the last time he had a cronut. 'I say, look at that singular formation of clouds. It really has the appearance of a basilisk, doesn't it? And that one over there: it reminds me of Mogofer's famous painting of the Accession of the Invincible Overlord. Being a medium I have some knowledge of this sort of divination, and to me these seem like nothing but good signs. Let's stuff ourselves silly and head back to the dungeon.'
"This sword has no use to me. One of you take it, or lock it up with the mace to sell later. As for the treasure, I believe it is only right and proper to divide it equally — assuming that you are all unwilling to let the treasure fall entirely to me. The scrolls perhaps should go to whomever will most benefit, which to me seems like those will do the most fighting hand-to-hand."
The treasure map found in the snake is interesting, I wonder if it shows a level of the dungeon. The only way to find out is to keep exploring.
The north-south hallway on Orofer's excellent map, just to the right of where he marks "goblins" in the northeast, seems like a clean place to continue. Unless someone with more experience of the dungeon knows of a safer or more promising alternative?
Orofer gets enough combat to warrant a magic sword if nobody else claims it. I say split the gold evenly, let Quasmus hang onto the protection scrolls
Given the warning given about Set's treasure, Orofer might want to consider that the sword came out of Mitra's statue and Mitra is an LG deity...
[OOC:] note that while we are using 5-point alignment for people, swords just have 3-point alignment. Other weapons generally don't have alignment, but...
I've updated the gold and experience in the reference document. I deducted 3 gold for 2 ferry rides and 1 nights stay. If you are staying longer, or purchase drink, you should adjust accordingly. Also adjust for any purchases and note them (or let me know what you are purchasing so I can update).
I'd also like to know who definitely wants to continue to play. We've had some pretty quiet folks. If you're being quiet because you are a go along with the flow kind of person, that's fine, but please chime in so we know to keep your character in the party.

Quasmus is _locked and loaded_ for this next expedition. "Who among you will rise to the challenge?! ... And of those, who is willing to carry this large sack full of iron rations? *oof* My back isn't what it used to be."
Quasmus eagerly reflects on his experiences, to better determine if he is due for a boost in magical puissance.
Active for sure: Orofer F/MU/T (makofan) Quasmus MU (flightcommander) Raiz MU (Starbeard)
Probably will post once we start adventuring in the dungeon: Eltazar F/MU (masterkerfuffle)
Would leave out unless they make a post: Iago Th (arzach) Tlanec C (sirravd)
NPC: What is the status of Skeggi, Erynmir and Drogul?
Skeggi is in, Erynmir and Drogul have departed long ago, I need to move them off the references...
If I recall, Iago and Tlamec did post during the last expedition during the temple raiding.
dtspurrier - Fitz rockgrubber - no posting in quite some time, but we had NPCed Fitz earlier so maybe again (or somehow convince Brumbar to come back?) philpot - Malone - If I recall, very few postings strangebrew - Yenziev Iron-Belly - another with very few postings Mannclay - Muthebar - another with very few postings
Only the lowest level of character types can be hired. The player wishing to hire a non-player character "advertises" by posting notices at inns and taverns, frequents public places seeking the desired hireling, or sends messengers to whatever place the desired character type would be found (elf-land, dwarf-land, etc). This costs money and takes time, and the referee must determine expenditures. Once some response has been obtained, the player must make an offer to tempt the desired character type into his service. As a rule of thumb, a minimum offer of 100 Gold Pieces would be required to tempt a human into service, dwarves are more interested in gold, Magic-Users and elves desire magical items, and Clerics want some assurance of having a place of worship in which to house themselves
Let me hunt back and see what I have done in the past...
Though I don't know if you have hired men at arms before...
