I will wait any further response. Particularly of interest will be the actions of the berserkers (Olaf should primarily take direction from Quasmus, the other two will take direction from party consensus since they agreed to join the party).
I haven't heard anything from Ruby's player in a while...
Note that since your rest has been interrupted, you are still at -2 for combat.
ooc: The person playing Ruby has also gone AWOL in my online game. I managed to talk with the person playing Fitz, as he is also in my online game, and he is burned out on RPG's. I do not expect either of these back. On another note, I hope to make a huge effort this weekend and produce an updated map

Ok, I'll NPC folks until you get out of the dungeon and then adjust the active party.
We will have another cleric joining the party just after this encounter.
Orofer casts sleep and 5 giant rats collapse in slumber.
The berserkers charge the rats, the berserkers are not affected by the lack of rest (they can function for an extra 6 turns before needing the first rest period), they also, instead of getting +2 to hit, may take an extra attack on creatures LESS than one hit die.
Olaf swings and kills 2 (12 hit for 3 damage, 13 hit for 5 damage) Lars swings and kills 1 (14 hit for 6 damage, 6 miss) Erik swings and kills 1 (18 hit for 1 damage, 6 miss)
"Stop! What are you doing to those magnificent creatures??" cries Brother Ursus, misunderstanding the situation. He is a bear of a man with a bushy brown beard. His shiny new plate armor has neither scratch nor dent.

The newcomer shines his lantern of justice to consider the situation. After a moment, he responds to Orofer: "If these beasts are a threat to public safety, then it is right to exterminate them. Can I help? My name is Brother Ursus."
