After two hours of apparent conversation, Zebulon confers with you. Apparently, goblins have been emerging from the cellar of one of the ruined cottages at night and chopping down trees. The ent would be most appreciative if the attacks stopped, though he can not offer any recompense. If you do this, Zebulon would be happy to offer healing on your return to the surface. He says you are welcome to scavenge the village for any possible needs. Zebulon would also forage in the forest to provide rations. Of course he will still pay you 100 gp each upon return to the ferry landing.

Quasmus yanks a scrap of parchment and a fine charcoal crayon from his belongings, and endeavors to record a diagram of the company's explorations. He'll need someone nearby with a light source, and will gladly provide his lantern if someone will but carry the d**ned thing.
"Quiet now, everyone! Orofer — listen at this door and tell us what you hear! Brumbar, Ruby, down front if you please, and look sharp! Amadeus and Cyril, arrange yourselves as you see fit, but stray not from Cedric's protection!
"Zebulon, I give you the honor of minding our rear flank."
Makofan please ass the light bearers and mapper notes to the marching order. Note that Quasmus must be in the 2nd rank to map. It would be most effective for Amadeus to be beside him. The lantern will be sufficient to give light for the party.

Since Ruby was sent down in front, I would imagine she is on the left file in the front row. That way, she won't get in the way of an errant sword strike from a right-handed combatant. She is one step out of file so she can turn quickly if she has to, and because her low Wisdom prevents her from remembering to stay in line.

"Zebulon, I give you the honor of - Zebulon? Zebulon? I could have sworn he descended with us. No matter. Cedric, I give you the honor of minding our rear flank. I see you are ready! Our companions have arrayed themselves most belligerently. Excellent!
The entrance passage headed East, and then turned North, with the door to the East, natural passage to the West.
The door opens easily to reveal a room approximately 30' North/South, 20' East/West, but the Eastern wall is angled in three sections (as if half of an octagon). The entrance is in the Northern 10' of the West wall. The room is empty but for some trash strewn on the floor and a bloodstain on the South wall. There do no appear to be any more exits.
Orofer holds his sword before him and down, loosely turning trash away before he steps anywhere, and enters the room. He will do a brief perimeter check of the walls, looking for anything suspicious, ending at the bloodstain, but not actually standing in front of it (for fear of a trap).
