In 2008 I bought 500 dice for a song. These dice were:
*opaque
*simple, solid colors (no swirlies, etc.)
*4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 20-sided
*The 20-siders were labelled 0-9 twice.
*uninked
They looked exactly like the dice for sale when I first started playing D&D in 1980 (except the poor 4-siders were not caltrops).
Does anyone know where I could buy something like that today?

Do you remember the vendor from 10 years ago? Do Koplow or Chessex have "bag o' dice" offers?

Do you remember the vendor from 10 years ago? It was on ebay from Diamond Dice.

The Wiz Dice are a _really_ good deal if you want a whole bunch of dice fast and aren't really picky about what you get. I would personally recommend them for, say, someone just getting into the hobby who needs enough dice for a entire group. I was very happy with the bag I got when I purchased them.

I believe the dice the OP refers to are "Diamond Dice". They were sold by a model train seller on ebay for a number of years until his supply was depleted. The dice were precision edged (opaque and crystal varieties) and the d20s were 0-9 twice.
While the dice look and initially felt like the best quality polyhedral dice of old (Gamescience, Windmill Hobbies, etc.), they did not hold up nearly as well to use. The seller was very up front about this and suggested rolling on soft surfaces. I bought quite a bit of these and use them. Enough, to move on to a fresh set when one of my sets starts getting worn.

Heads up: I just bought some 0-9 D20s from, of all places, Walmart.com. After a bit of searching it was the only place I found where you can buy them for less than $2 apiece, and in packs. Just search "Walmart D20 0-9 twice".
