So, after racking up a few months worth of experience points, we're now a "verified" publisher on DriveThruRPG.
Among other things, this means we can now "bundle" different products, instead of just bundling the PDF and physical instantiation of the same product.
So, we're offering the five Zylarthen booklets combined with the "deluxe" bookmarked/hyperlinked Electronic Edition PDF for $34.75, or the price of the booklets alone.
I have a short post about it at Save Versus All Wands, here.
The link to the bundle on DriveThru is here.
I originally thought of offering it for $29.75. To be honest, I wouldn't have lost very much "profit." The problem with that price, though, is that it wouldn't have allowed me to give a discount to the people who had already purchased the PDF alone, and I thought that would be kind of a gyp.
I'm also wondering whether I underpriced the PDF at $9.95. The original intention to lowball it was mostly due to my assumption that many/most potential purchasers already had access to the "free" rougher PDFs released in late 2013. But I now think the $9.95 makes it look sort of cheap ($9.95 for 337 pages? What's wrong with it?)
So that price might be going up soon. But I didn't want to do it simultaneous to creating the bundle. That might have also looked like a gyp.
In any case, if you're intrigued by Zylarthen, but don't have any versions of the game, or only have access to the original no-frills PDF versions, I think the booklet/deluxe PDF version might be right up your alley.
We feel it occupies a completely unique niche in, as it were, clone space. But more than that, if you love OD&D, it might even be required reading.*
As I wrote in today's post:
"ZYLARTHEN is a game you can feel comfortable playing with your children . It is also (to the degree that we were successful) a game for adults who wish to recapture the sense of wonder they had on first being introduced to the role-playing hobby. We hope (again, if we were successful) that it will appeal to role-playing history wonks as well as younger enthusiasts who wish to get become more acquainted with, as it were, the roots of the thing."
