I'm working on a quick set of miniature rules for the Middle Ages called King in Earnest. The rules are three pages with a cover. I've also put together a separate scenario booklet of three conflicts. Here are the dropbox links: KiE rulesKiE scenariosAny feedback would be appreciated. Added a KiE reference sheetAdded KiE generic countersYou will have to size these counters. You can open jpeg with Paint. Then pick page setting- portrait and fit to 1 by 1 pages. Once printed on card stock, write needed troop types on faces.

Thanks. Looks great! My kind of rules volume- short! Anything for peasants or would they be considered Footmen?

Thanks xerxez. They still need some work, but I intend to keep them short and simple. The d6 mechanic creates some limitations that I'm attempting to work within. My son and I have been play testing them and have discovered a couple issues. I have to work on the results of routing troops coming in contact with their own units, for instance, and I may need to expound on some things for clarity sake. So, there will be some revisions. It would be great to get some feedback from others. What I'm happy with is that a large conflict can be resolved in a relatively short time by abstracting the number of troops each unit represents. Yes, peasants are considered Lightfoot with a morale rating of 6. I have put together a generic counter sheet that I may post if it would encourage others to try them.

Still working on this. I think I may change it to a 2d6 or maybe a d10 mechanic to give a little more room for variables. Things like crossing terrain and withdrawing from melee would be 7 or 8+ with 2d6, 6 or 7+ on a d10. Not sure yet.

Just did a first pass of the rules. I really like the quote at the end.

Yeh, it's a good quote. Very fitting for a game.
