"Thank you, Thoradin," Airik said, striding up to their table. "I thought I was onto something earlier, but if those mercenaries we saw show up at the main gate were up to no good with the merchants they led away, they took it indoors and I couldn't follow them further."
Airik bought some leftover stew from dinner and some mead to wash it down. Before people went to bed, he took off his armor, sat down with on a stool by the others, and said in a quieter tone, "Do we have a plan for what to do in the morning?"
To Airik he says, “I have no idea even where to begin. Perhaps if our eyes are sharp and our ears open, we may learn something through observation and study. Otherwise, I am, at the moment, at a loss.”
Kynor computes that he has no other choice but to use the common room. He shrugs, realizing that a private room would probably give him a false sense of security. He will sleep close to his belongings, by habit.
The rest of the dinner service passes and the inn keeper does provide some extra bed rolls if asked. Also sleeping in the common room are five other people besides your group. Hearing the group discussing standing watch the inn keeper does say " if your group are willing to stand watch tonight your rooms are free and I will throw in breakfast in the morning. "

The night passes uneventful and in the morning the party is woken up by the wenches cleaning the tables, the smell of bacon being cooked and chairs being put up. All of you slept well and are ready to begin the day

"Well, my friends," Airik began over washing down a bit of pork with some watered beer, "we came here to look for an active cult of Sargon, which is going to require us doing more than just sitting in this inn all day. I propose we split up into pairs and interview the local clergy. They will surely know more about cults encroaching on their territory."
The great church of karameikos (good law and protection) ( same church you saw yesterday walking around with a statue of one of their saints)
Church of traladara ( lawful church of behavior/morality/ and peace)
Father mayhem talks to the innkeeper and rents the only private room out for a week and decides to stay here. He does say " guys in the journal from the hobgoblin king it spoke of the cult influence with a trading post near the northwest gate which leads into the desert"
"I hope you don't mind if I stay a little quiet at first", says Thoradin. "My experiences with human clerics were a little... heated in the past. It seems your clergy is much less open to religious debates. I'd like to make sure to not repeat those past mistakes."
