Examining the raft there is 2 sets of oars. You can all effectively squeeze on the raft. Since there is no real current the travel will be slow. Punching through the dirt and soft clay reveals no creatures other then some worms.
Boarding the raft? Also who is in front and who is the rear. Keep in mind you would be sitting single file in order for all of you to fit
Damrod will take a turn rowing. He wishes he still had his spears (he gave them to the cavemen a while back). A weapon with some reach may prove useful, but a bow would be a poor choice of weapon in the raft.
I pray for exactly seven things: strength, intelligence, wisdom, constitution, dexterity, charisma, and more hit points.
The room has lichen on the walls that glow a flourescent light which does lighten the room and infravision works fine.
As you begin to board the boat, kynor and airik hear a slushing noise behind them. Lookibg back they see a jelly cube sloshing and slurping toward the room. The cube seems to be cleaning the hallway However the real horror is there is a body inside of the cube. The cube has slowly eaten away at the body but with the halfling size and the markings the body is Will (walt). The cube is 40 feet away from you.
If we were playing COC i would be asking for sanity checks
"Let's go aboard the boat and try to throw things at the cube from afar. If we are able to weaken it, maybe we can try an approach." suggests Kynor while looking if there is something in his pack he can use to ignite the creature.
So airik and ameldor are shooting. Kynor let me know if you are throwing or boarding the boat. No penalty from shooting from the boat since it has not been casted off. Neec actions from damrod and father mayhem
Kynor will go aboard the boat and search a flask of oil in his pack. If and when the creature approaches near enough, he will attempt to throw some oil on it. It will be up to the party to decide if they want to ignite it afterwards, should he succeed.
Players movement: both elves set weapons down draw swords and move, airik switches to melee. Kynor moves foreward with his oil
Melee: airik attacks with his sword rolls a 15 (11+4) hits he causes max damage 12 points moderately injuring it. Kynor throws his oil rolls a 18 and hits the oil splashes on the creature. Damrod attacks with his sword rolls a 6 (4+2) and misses. Ameldor attacks with his sword rolls a 16 (12+4) and hits. He causes 6 points of damage creature still moderately wounded taking 22 damage total. Father mayhem still in the boat
Creature attacks random person three targets, rolling 1 airik, 2 ameldor, 3 damrod, gets a 1 attacking airik. Rolls a 12 exactly hits airik. It causes 5 pts of damage and the acid is cool to the touch. Rolling save for airik rolls a 7 and airik is paralyzed by the touch
End of round: creature is moderatly damaged and covered in oil. airik is paralyze by the creature acidic cool touch.
Hp tracker: Damrod 6/7 Ameldor 6/6 Kynor 7/10 Father mayhem 15/22 Airik 5/18
Monster melee: monster attacks the petrified airik, rolls a 10 and with the bonus to prone hits. Its cold acidic touch does min damage 2 points to airik and airik is severly wounded
Players movement: ameldor drags airik to safely. The creature makes a back attack lunge and ameldor ( free back attack) but rolls a 6 (2+4) and misses. Kynor lights a torch
Players melee: damrod attacks with his sword rolls a 14 (12+2) and hits. He causes 4 points of damage severly wounding it. Kynor uses his torch rolls a 19 and hits. Burning oil does 1d8 damage per round for two rounds and fire is effective here. He does max damage 8 points and the creature collapses and burns to a heap
End of combat:
Wills (walt) dead corpse slimes out of the cube corpse. Will is definitely dead ans airik is paralyzed. Some loose coins and equipment can still be salvaged. Updating exp.
" I have no idea. That is the first time I have ever encountered anything like that. Let's wait 10 minutes and if he still can't move, we can retreat to a safe area we have already explored and perhaps rest". Ameldor walks over to the deceased halfling. "What should we do with Will's body now that we have found him?"
