A question has arisen in the Chainmail game that my friend and I are playing about the "Cavalry Charge" morale on p. 18 of the book.
As we understand from the rules, missile troops who are charged may make a pass-through fire attack (p. 12) before they are meleed.
But when do they make the Cavalry Charge morale check? Before or after they get to make pass-through fire?
It would be great to hear from experienced players how you have dealt with this.

It's never come up for me, but if it did, I'd let the missile troops take their pass-through fire first.

I'd say if the cavalry has declared a charge in the movement phase, the threat has been established and the archers must make their morale check to stand and fire. This is consistent with excess casualty morale checks in other instances. Futures Bright, Paul

Actually, on second thought I think I agree with Paul's interpretation. The whole point of the morale check is "does their nerve hold."
