Zing the Perilous sneers aloofly at the Manticore as he back-pedals North 6 hexes. With a great flourishing of hands and body he smiles with devilish intent and casts an Illusion at the charging beast... a ring of flame leaps up around the hell-cur, penning him in! (or so he hopes )
Both Spartacus and the Colossus charge each other, while the Sorcerer backpeddles just out of range of the manticore. The eye floats lazily towards the combatants. Spartacus hacks a chunk out of the colossus, who promptly trips and falls to the ground! Zing attempts to ring the manticore with fire, but the manticore fails to believe in the flames.
ROUND TWO Spartacus Melee +16, rolls 8 and 3 (gets best of two rolls for favourite weapon), total 24 Colossus is hit for 1d6+4=6 damage Clossus Melee +8, rolls 1 and fumbles and trip Manticore Saving Roll +8, needs 17, rolls 20+8=28 and succeeds
Clearly I have misjudged my characters persona. Please rename the bronze colossus formerly known as Talos, Schlemiel-os.
For the next round Schlemiel-os will attempt to regain his footing while picking up his trident. If he can still attack (without injuring himself), he will.
((Schlemiel-os threw his trident, it landed by Spartacus, then Spartacus ran past the trident to meet Schlemiel-os. So, by my reckoning, Schlemiel-os is at least 10' from the trident and has to fight past Spartacus to get to it.))
"Ah-ha-ha-HA!" Spartacus cried after his magic blade scored a groove in the enchanted statue's leg. He then tried to circle round the thing while it regained its footing so he could attack it from behind.
As Spartacus circles around, the colossus crawls to the trident and picks it up. Spartacus attacks him from his unshielded backside and scores another big hit. The colossus, stands, turns and jabs at the annoying gnat but does not connect. Zing conjures as fast as he can, but then the manticore's jaws almost rip him in two, and he staggers, reels, and loses concentration. He is in serious trouble. The eye starts rolling a ball of fire towards the combatants...

OOC: DM is using his discretion and knowledge of the rules to translate this into what he thinks would happen (Zing needs to be closer to the manticore for spell to work)
The colossus bolts to the south east, and Spartacus lets him go as he approaches the manticore/sorcerer pair. Unfortunately for the colossus, the blazing sphere controlled by the eye rolls right up to him and starts heating his bronze. He narrowly avoids the searing heat. As the manticore is about to attack, the sorcerer disappears! Zing shakily uses his artifact to teleport away. The manticore turns to try to locate him, and Zing locks eyes with him and tries to compel him to obey. The manticore comes under his spell for 5 turns!
