I started a library of ready-to-print-and-play pregens, for conventions/tournaments/whatever: unvisiblecitadel.blogspot.com/2016/06/old-school-pregenerated-character.html... and it needs some OD&D pregens. If any of you have downloadable pregens for OD&D (and the obviously related games), point me at them, and I'll add a link to them in the library. They have to be free, and ready-to-print-and-play. (If you want me to host them, I'll happily stick them into google drive.)

I made this document of ~480 Lab Lord characters, levels 1-6, a few years ago. A couple of things to note is that the CHA bonus is reversed (the only place I could see it used in the rules was reaction roll, where lower was better), I had forgot about class prerequisites (you'll find a couple of elves with low DEX in there) and nobody has the Sleep spell because I didn't like it at the time. I still use these at cons, though Writing a new and better script for generating them is on my huge todo-list. Somewhere. Edit: Should have included link

bea — yeah, I found your pdf when I initially googled to find other old school pregens. But I didn't includes yours in the list, mainly because each character doesn't include mundane adventuring gear. And to a lesser extent, because it's sort of an unwieldy assortment. Refs would have to manually curate the assortment, to pare it down to just a set of 10 to bring to a convention game, for example, and deal with the fact that they might be printing some on a page that they won't use. And then cutting them up.
(By the same token, I'm intentionally not pointing to any of the line-by-line type "rogues gallery" pdfs out there, because they're similarly not just print-and-hand-out things.)
But I will point to it anyway, because it's such a big resource, and because it's pretty darn close to what I'm looking for. So thank you for pointing it out!
It would be really cool if you made a pdf with a smaller batch of characters (maybe about 10 of them), from amongst the ~480, and give them equipment.

I completely forgot that they don't include gear! One of the points that need to be rectified for the next script.
When I use them I just print out a range of pages, cut them out and let people pick a random one. But then death comes swift and often in my games, typically.

FWIW, I posted this (awesome) resource on my G+ feed, and someone almost immediately pointed out that the AD&D characters contain a bunch of "illegal" class/race combos. I haven't looked at those yet (plus it's not something I would care about), but it might be a problem if you're trying to go BTB...

Thread necromancy! Sorry about that, but I thought I should share something new on the subject. I've recently built a character generator (and I am aware that the word b***h is in the URL -- I haven't gotten around to getting a decent domain yet). It builds first level-adventurers and gives them starting spells and equipment. What they get is not based on any economy; there's a 4/5 chance of armor of some kind, for example. The equipment list is pretty small so far, only consisting of most of the things from the "Adventuring Gear" table in the character creation chapter of Labyrinth Lord. I have a long list of features yet to be implemented, but consider this good enough for version 1. I've ordered 100 of them printed on business card paper from a local printer, and will use them at a con this weekend. Will see what experiences I gain from that Feedback is welcome!

Nice Bea. So feedback:
The Level listing gets lost under the big bold name; probably should be formatted differently. Per 3lbb convention you should also include Languages and a place for XP.
I personally would also prefer equipment over stuff. It carries a more specific meaning.
Lastly, These are characters for B/X basic, not OD&D, and probably you should make that clear. I guess it wouldn't take too much work on your part to tweak the program to make OD&D characters too.

My main goal was to make them work decently for as many OSR games out there as possible. I guess most of them are based on some variety of Basic. I didn't really give it much thought Depending on how they look in print I may change some fonts or font sizes around to make them more readable. I've thought about languages, but it's much like saves; ultimately it's decided by class and doesn't vary between characters of the same class and level. Stuff like that I just left out to save space.
