Day 17, turn 12, rd. 10 for Ximo:
Ximo looked at the weapons. The swords looked normal...the spears looked normal...the only weapons that stood out were the arrows, because they all had the same fletching around the base of them -- three fins, which matched the part of the riddle that went "And off I speed on wing-tips three".
With a snort of surprise, Ximo moved over to grab the arrow. He squatted down, grunting with the effort, and tucked it inside the folds of his robe after he removed it from its hiding place. Then he headed back to the armory and the door he assumed was now unlocked.

Day 17, turn 13, rd. 4 for Ximo:
There did not seem to be a lot of space behind the keyhole; it was either a false door or there was something propped up on the other side of the door. The keyhole also didn't seem to be sized to a key. It was much larger; large enough to push, say, an arrow into.

Day 17, the rest of turn 13 for Ximo:
The glowing arrow inserted halfway into the large keyhole and got stuck there. The door behind Ximo swung shut. A moment after that, the room felt like it was moving. Ximo could hear a muted grinding sound behind the walls. This went on for about two minutes, and then stopped. And the door Ximo had entered by swung open.
It now opened onto a well-lit room, where Emmanuelle and several other instructors were waiting for him. "Congratulations, Ximo the Humble. You have passed your tests."
"Thank you. It is nice to have one's talents recognized, humble as they may be. I had heard the test was challenging and dangerous. There was obviously some peril, but I had heard other students experienced more harrowing events."
Ximo thought it might be getting towards time for lunch...or dinner. Some meal. He had been in there a while and was hungry. But he also figured it would be worth it to impress these Consortium functionaries with some repartee.

Day 17, turn 14 for Ximo:
"Yes...you probably heard of what happened to Joaquim of Greyhawk..." Ximo was told. Some nervous glanced darted back and forth at each other among the small crowd. "We can assure you that extra precautions were taken this time; you were never once alone during your training. There will always be an element of risk to training, of course, as only real risk will prepare you for what a career in magic holds for you."
"It was decided to keep you on as a general practitioner of magic, instead of encouraging you to specialize," Emmanuelle explained. "I trust that will meet with your approval?"
When Ximo mentioned he was hungry, Quinton said, "Out this door and down the hall to the left is the commissary. I can serve you up some sausage and bread pudding, or magic it up to seem like something else, if you'd like."

Day 17, turn 15 for Ximo:
"It's almost mid-afternoon, on the 19th day of Flocktime. The day after you were in the library," Quinton explained. He also explained how he had an illusion spell that could alter the taste of food. "Little more than a cantrip, really, but some of the younger apprentices want to learn it."
Ximo enjoyed a leisurely lunch in the commissary. At a nearby table, two men Ximo did not know were discussing business.
"So did you think the attacks are hurting the silver trade?"
"No, I don't think so. Maybe there's less open trading in the marketplace -- lots of people seem to be assuming that the marketplace will be a likely next target -- but that just means that more people are interested in coming here to hold their transactions. The demon attack doesn't seem to be widely known about yet, so people assume the Consortium building is safe."
"Even though two temples have been attacked already?"
"Well, everyone knows that clerics have little other than healing magic. What, they're going to throw a cure spell at a dragon?"
Both men laughed over that and went back to eating.
At a corner table in the room were the two boys and girl that Ximo had seen around the Consortium many times. The apprentices seemed thoroughly engrossed in a quiet conversation of their own.

Day 17, turn 15b for Ximo:
Ximo spent a luxurious hour in the commissary, until he was the last person there, mulling over his options. An idea came to him about what he could do if Ramon did not return from Ryemend...and weighed how long he should wait before implementing it.
Ximo decided to head over to the Temple of Heavenly Virtues to see if Ramon had returned from his trip to Ryemend. He hoped the cleric was not risking his life in battle or some such foolishness. If he died it would really inconvenience Ximo's plans.

Day 17, turn 25 for Ximo:
"...and so Scottenkainen contacted me and told me of this attack on the Temple of the Journey. We would avenge the parishioners who died that day, if we can," Darilar was saying to Ximo and Ferrero as they approached the gate to the Silver Consortium.
"What business brings you here?" the gargoyle asked.
"Curious, that..." Darilar said, watching the gargoyle warily.
The Silver Consortium seemed busier than usual, with Ekaitz teaching a class of four the movements of casting a Sleep spell on the front lawn (Ximo recognized the young, curly-haired girl in the class as someone who was commonly around, but did not know the others).
Instead of having to let themselves in, the front door of the building was thrown open and the wizard Saturnino stood there. "Ferrero!" he called out, arms extended wide.
"Saturnino, you old rascal," the archdeacon called out. The two old men embraced. "It's been too long."
"Far too long. Business keeps us busy, eh?" Saturnino joked. "Your companion, Ximo the Humble, I already know. This other man?"
"I am Darilar of Furyondy, looking for Scottenkainen," Darilar said with a respectful bow. "Is Scottenkainen among your members?"
"He is not," Saturnino answered with a frown. "Your associate continues to hold out from our generous offers of membership. I suggest you ask the White Sage where Scottenkainen can be found. Ximo, will you escort this man back to the gate?"
"Ximo invited me here on important business," Ferrero prompted.
"And he may come back and join us in a few minutes. I would have you to myself to catch up with, if I may," Saturnino said before shooing Ximo off.
"Of course, Sir," Ximo said to cover the brusque dismissal. "Please come with me, Darilar."
He led the man back to the gate. Then he paused and lowered his voice, "Those who attacked the Temple of the Journey are known to a small fraternity which includes myself. We have taken the fight to the attackers, a wicked cult of fell loyalties. I believe I can put you in touch with them if you would like to join their attacks. If you seek out Marcel and Joaquim of Greyhawk at the Bronze Unicorn and mention I sent you, they may have an opportunity for you to deliver your vengeance."
Ximo continued, "In the meantime, you can find the White Sage in the Business Quarter..." And Ximo gave the man directions to the learned man.

Day 17, turn 26 for Ximo:
"Thank you for your aid," Darilar said. "You will likely hear from me again."
Ximo gave Ferrero and Saturnino their "few minutes" of privacy and then came looking for them. They were ready for him. "I will escort Archdeacon Ferrero and yourself to Jaggers' cell personally," Saturnino said.
From a northwest office on the ground floor, Saturnino opened a secret door that led to a narrow spiral staircase leading down. "A secret way into our dungeon level," Saturnino explained. A bright, magical light glowing from a single torch lit the stairwell.
There were some doors at the bottom of the stairs and one of them was Jaggers' cell. Saturnino produced a key ring and unlocked the door.
"Please, let me out!" Jaggers, looking haggard and scared, pleaded to his jailers.
Archdeacon Ferrero invoked the names of Delleb and Rao to allow him to see who was charmed and who was not around him. Then, in the hallway, he confirmed that Jaggers was still under the effects of the charm spell.
"Then the way seems clear," Saturnino said. "Ximo, take Jaggers with you and use him to help you get close to the cult. Do whatever you need to do."

Day 18, turn 5 for Semeragin, Joaquim, Marcel, (Axen, Koldo, Daphne, Fortunato, Holman, Dudo, Laetitia, Gautier, Ibai):
Semeragin was not too familiar with the Molten Spigot Tavern; it had a bad reputation for being a rowdy place. But Axen knew the way well and, when they got there, Semer found a clean, quiet common room (though, to be fair, it was still morning).
Marcel, Koldo, Daphne, Gautier, Ibai, and Laetitia were there with a man and two male halflings Semeragin did not recognize.
"Good to see you made it, Axen, Semer!" Koldo said.
"Some introductions may be in order," Daphne said. "Semeragin, this is Fortunato, of my regular adventuring company."
"And this is Holman and Dudo," Axen said, introducing the two other halflings. "We met them in the Ryemend dungeon -- but they've proven to be good, and handy, allies."
"We're eleven now," Ibai said. "Do we really need this many to smash up some inn selling drugs?"
((I rolled randomly to see who came. Joaquim is actually here, but still invisible. If Ramon wants to show up, or Darren wants Caltaran to show up, they still can.))
