Came across this very nice document just now. I haven't perused these in detail yet, but I'll give them a try at the table and see if there's anything missing - or, more importantly, whether there's anything I can take away. swshinn.com/dnd-5e/rules-summary/

Hey, I seem to remember somebody posting their condensed version of the free basic PDF.
I can't find that anywhere now.
Do y'all know what I'm talking about?

Rad, Falconer! Have you played using 5E and/or this document? Is this guy on our board here? I want to thank him, and (if possible) engage him. Anyway, thanks again!

I don’t have any interest in 5e, but I love the idea of distilling a more verbose ruleset into something that looks like OD&D. I’ve done it with RQ2, and I’d like to do it with Star Wars 1e. I wish someone would do it for The One Ring (but I don’t like it enough to do it myself).

Falconer, I know what you mean. Looking at that 3 page summary of 5e makes me wonder what the 0e version would look like!

I don’t have any interest in 5e, but I love the idea of distilling a more verbose ruleset into something that looks like OD&D. I think that 5E is clearly an acquired taste. I played it at first because it was the only game at the store, but I like it a lot more now that I've had a chance to play and run it for a few years now. Other than OD&D/C&C, it's become my game of choice. Having said that, I agree that there is too much stuff in the rulebook and that in many ways I like the free Basic PDF better.
