Okay, so it's a "young reader" book and that will probably turn most folks off, but I found this book the other day and just had to read it. What this book represents is a retelling of the original Star Wars ("A New Hope" to the young-uns) movie. Part I tells the story of Leia and her capture by the Empire. Part II tells the story of Han and how he got swept into the storyline from Tatooine to the Death Star. Part III tells the story of Luke and how we get to the end of the story. Easy reading, but I really like the way the author told the tale. It's kind of a fresh look at a 40-year-old story.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be better than all the Monster High junk she reads.

Just finished the book. Part I (Leia's story) was my favorite of the three.
One thing that is interesting is that this version doesn't tell the story in chronolgical order. For example, we don't hear about the jawas and the fate of Owen & Beru until the final third of the book.
I was talking to a guy who got to see a Star Wars panel that included the author of this book and he said that the other two books in the series (for ESB and RotJ) were also pretty good, but I might stop with the one I read. If anyone happens to read the others, perhaps a review would be nice....
