Sunday April 11, 1920, 1:30 PM. You arrive at Velma's Restaurant. You could use a bite to eat. As you enter your cousin says, JB: You know we're actually in the hole, right now. We spent money. Owe $500. Rents due. we're down about $550. When we get our money we won't be much better off..." When you enter Velma's it's in full lunch time swing... "Well, we can pay on rent, but that other thing, Agent Carson, he can go f**k himself. He said to call him when we had it, he's betting that we weren't deliver drivers but owners. He was wrong. He don't get shirt from us. If he wants $500 from $8000, he can go find Mr.O'Banion. His second mistake was letting us walk." Tommy anticipates his meal by tucking a napkin cloth in his shirt. He looks at the crowd and sips his water.

Jimmy looks across the table at you and begins to laugh. He says JB: "My sentiments exactly. If they want the dough they can have lead instead. Now, how do we get paid from last night? Who actually gives us the cash." You order your food and when it arrives Jimmy states "we've been up all night. I need to hit the rack..."

Sean tucks his .38 into the waist of his pants and covers it the best he can with his suit jacket and coat.. He heads to Walton pharmacy and gift shop to purchase a flask. And then he heads to Velma's to grab a bight to eat and gather a little reconnaissance on the lay of the land. He hopes to make nice to the waitress and ask if she knows a place where he might fill his new flask.

Sean exits Walton pharmacy and heads West along Maxwell. (Make an observation check).
When you arrive at Velma's Restaurant it is around 2 PM. A 1921 Dusenberg Sedan is parked out front. A stocky red headed "chauffer" is standing next to the car on the passenger side. Upon entry you see a large, loud and personable male in his 50's wearing a sharp 3 piece suit, polished shoes and hat. He is saying hello to customers and staff. A young pretty waitress is heard to say "hello, Mr. Harrigan. Nice to see you again." A female in her 30's behind the counter says "Hey, Mike. You stayin for lunch?" Mike Harrigan states "Can't stay Velma. Just looking for Deanie. He around?" Velma responds "he's still at the shop Mike. Didn't come in for lunch. Some of his boys are in your place next door though."
Ref: Tommy and Jimmy both see Harrigan enter and hear the conversation...

Sean gives a carefree smile and tip of the hat to the chauffeur on his way in the door of Velma's. He smiles at the woman behind the counter and the man identified as Harrigan, "Don't mean to interrupt, but I'd love a turkey sandwich and just a question about what liquid refreshments I might find. Whenever you get a chance. Take your time. I'm in no hurry. Just on a bit of a job hunt." Sean tries to sit where he can see both inside Velma's and the Dusenberg outside. He wants to see if Harrigan leaves if he'll get in the car or head next door to the place Velma mentioned.

Go home, I'll look into collecting. I'll make a call." Thomas says to James as they finish their meals. As they see Harrigan enter, "Go home Jimmy, I'm going to say hello before I make that call." Tommy gets up and waits near Harrigan as Sean sits and finishes his order. "Hello Mr. Harrigan, I'm Tommy Wexford, new around here, I just wanted to say that I enjoy your spot and I'm looking forward to being a regular face in the crowd. If you need anything, you let me know." with that, Tommy smiles and moves to make the call(to check-in on the delivery).

Mike Harrigan turns to Sean and says with a big smile and a strong Irish lilt, "Mike Harrigan, Boss of the 1st ward. By your accent I can tell you are a patriot and a republican! I hope you continue to support us in the our new country! He then leans in and faux whispers "if you need something stronger then coffee, come to Harrigans next door."
At that point, Jimmy Brogan exits the restaurant to return home. Tommy works his way over to the conversation between Harrigan and Sean. Tommy speaks to Harrigan who then shakes his hand and says "another fellow of the old country! You fellas know each other? (pointing to Sean). Listen, Tommy? It's not what you can do for me, it's what I can do for you. Vote Republican! Support the party and the cause. Come see me at my cafe next door whenever you like!"
Mike Harrigan waves to Velma and her staff then goes to leave...

"Ahh... Rob from the rich and give to the Irish... Heh Mike?" Sean says with wink and a grin. "Of course you can count on my support." Sean turns to Tommy, "Great to meet you!" After seeing Harrigan leave Sean asks "Is he on the level? I'm pretty new here. But I'm always happy to meet folks back home. The Name's Sean but most folks just call me Dublin."

"Sean" [shakes his hand]. "I've only just met Mr. Harrigan, but so far, we are both in the right part of town. I've a cousin who just left and we're pretty new here too. We picked up a delivery job from another countryman who runs things around here but we're hoping to start work for ourselves soon, would you be interested in helping us out? Think about it, call this number, I need to go meet a contact, nice meeting you and hope to hear from you soon", with that, Tommy looks for a Mr. O'banion friendly to discuss business.

Sean, nods, and gives his thanks. Sean will then head next door to see about filling his flask. Thinking about the potential of helping with Tommy and his cousin gives him an extra excitement to his walk.

It's around 2:30 pm. Lunch is now over. You both head around the corner to Harrigan's Cafe. Sean is looking for alcohol. Tommy is looking for either O'Banion or an associate. Upon entry into Harrigan's you find it quiet but doing a minor business. Only 10 customers are there. Mike Harrigan is seen talking to the bartender. He works the room, greeting customers and staff, quickly then leaves.
Tommy see's the bartender, John, is working. John nods as you approach the bar. He says "everything work out?"
Sean approaches the bartender who asks "what can I get ya?"

"I'd like to fill up my portable high-ball glass, and have a quick drink while I'm here as well. Thanks. And put whatever Tommy's having on my tab." Sean hands the flask to the bartender, then after finishing his drink intends to head back to his room, and wait until evening in order to call Tommy back about accepting the job.

The bartender leans in slightly and says quietly, "O'Banion. You talk to O'Banion. He'll be here tonight after 9 pm. Come back around then. Either that, or go see him at his shop, Schofield's. He's there everyday during the day and here at night. John slides you a mug of coffee then returns to cleaning beer mugs.

Tommy exits the cafe, then turns East to head home to his apartment. Tommy sees 2 vehicles pass by Heading East straight down Canal Street. The 2 vehicles, both Ford Sedans, black in color with shields on the front doors. The shields advertise "Brinks Express Messengers." There are 2 uniformed guards in the front vehicle and 2 in the one behind. The 2 cars make a left turn onto Broad Street in the direction of the First National bank...
Sean had exited the cafe ahead of Tommy...(Sean, make an observation check also)

Sean was walking North on Broad Street ahead of Tommy looking to either take Dutton Court or Maxwell Street to return home for the evening. As Sean crosses the Street to the sidewalk on the East side he looks south at oncoming traffic. Sean notices the 2 Brinks messenger cars approaching. From Seans experience in robbery he knows that by going to the bank at his time of day means a pickup not a drop off. The prize would be small. But a drop off on the right day and time wouldn't be... You assess the cars. 2 Model T Ford 1914 Sedans. Pre war. No armor. 4 guards. Handguns for sure. Shotguns expected. Anything stronger would depend on the take. Something to consider.

He'll rest until past 9PM, awake and contact James. They will together head back to Velma's and Harrigan's for another meal, a drink and to speak to Mr. O'Banion about their work. When Tommy has a chance, he'll mention he met "Sean" to James and he'll mention the idea of possibly doing a Brinks job.

Sean takes note of the Brinks cars, time, direction they are facing, and then heads to his quarters. At 5:00 he will call the number Tommy left him to say he'll be glad to help in anyway he can. "Just let me know when you want to meet and form a strategy for upcoming work."

Sean and Tommy return to their respective apartments. At 5PM, Sean calls Tommy (wakes him up). Tommy suggests they speak at Velma's after 9pm. Tommy gets up after 9, collects Jimmy then heads to Velma's. Sean is already there in the 1st booth on the west wall. Tommy and Jimmy slide in across from Sean. You order food from the young waitress... Ref: Jimmy, Sean and Tommy. Make observation checks...

As Sean was approaching Velma's it is 910 pm and the streets are dark. Right across the street is a 1915 coupe parked with a single male inside. His face lights up each time he take a drag from his cigarette. He appears to have tape on the bridge of his nose and darkened eyes. He stares at the entrance to Velma's. Your experience tells you it's poorly conducted surveillance...

From where the car was parked, does Sean think the observer could get a clear view inside of Velma's or Just who was coming and going?

Tommy and Jimmy check out the booth where he last saw O'Banion and Weiss sitting. Neither are in the restaurant. Velma calls over to you. V: "Check in Harrington's next door, boys." She then continues working the till.
Tommy and Jimmy head over to Harrington's (exiting the front of Velma's). upon entry into the Cafe they find it, loud, smokey and busy. A quick look around locates O'Banion in the booth at the SW corner. O'Banion is sitting with Hymie Weiss across the table from Mike Harrigan. They are in a heated discussion. Mike Harrigan's voice can be heard above the noise of the place as you get closer. Gone is the polite friendly voice of a politician. Replaced by anger and contempt.
MH: "...I can't expand until it's done Dean! You said it wold be done an it ain't! Now what are you gonna do!?" DOB: "Relax Mike. It's gonna get done. You're getting yourself worked up for no reason. These things take time. I'm workin on it as we speak." MH: "I don't want excuses, Dean. I want results. If you can't do it, perhaps I can find someone who can!" DOB: (laughs with a smile on his face) "like I said Mike. We'll handle it. Right, Hymie." Hymie Weiss watches the exchange with a blank face a stony glare. When O'Banion asks him the question he says... HW: "We're on it." DOB: "See Mike (still smiling). All is well. Why don't you have one of your own drinks and relax." MH: "I'll relax when it's done." At that point Mike Harrigan gets up and walks out of the cafe. He doesn't appear to notice your presence as he exits.Dean looks at Weiss and laughs. He then makes eye contact with Tommy and waves you over to the table. He says DOB: "have a seat, boys. good job on that thing. Heard you had a couple of complications. Sean at the docks said you met a couple of pals there?" Hymie Weiss then looks at Tommy and says HW: "perhaps you two knuckle heads should invest in some masks." DOB: "(laughs) Ya, seein as the 2 hoods you jacked saw your faces and are still breathing, you might want to lay low for awhile. Anyhow, I got some other work for you two if you're interested."

Sean is sitting alone at the table in Velma's. He saw Tommy and Jimmy exit the restaurant without a word. The food arrives and you start your late supper. An unknown male quietly sits across from you and begins to eat a french fry he picks off of Jimmy's plate. The male, early 30's, Irish, light brown hair, green eyes, 5'10", 180 lbs, scruffy, wearing a dock coat and a drivers cap looks at you and says,
FOM: "Names, O'Mally. You must be Sean. I'm also from the Irish Resistance. Been lookin fer yu. What took ya so long?"
