"Let's take the stairs up to the 4th floor." I'll go in the stairs and run up to the 4th floor. I'll open the door and see if I can see anything before entering. You and Agent CLARK run up the stairs to the 4th floor. At the top of the stairs you peak out the door to the hallway to "have a look." You see a hallway extending straight in front of you. It also goes right out of view. The hallway in front has 4-5 doors leading to rooms. The lighting is good and all is quiet on that level... Agent CLARK opens his jacket to check his 45 Cal. pistol...

I'll take my .45 out. "Maybe we should hide and wait for the hotel detective to come up, and then arrest both of them once we catch them together. I hate that guy for lying to us. Or we could go listen at the doors and then start knocking and just arrest our suspect that we are after. What do you think, Clark?"

If we go down and demand the registry it'll probably be in a false name...but, there may be a limited number of single males staying in rooms on the 4th...One of us could watch the elevator and stairs to take sure no one tries to leave while the other speaks to the hotel manager and checks the room registry. What do you think? Either that or go room to room listening at the doors..."

"Let's listen first, if we here someone on the phone we know that's our man. If we hear someone moving around we can check. If we don't find anything then we'll go and check the registry. You take the right side of the hall, and I'll take the left. Just signal silently if you hear anything, and I'll do the same."
If we hear something we'll stop, if we don't we'll head down to the lobby to check at the desk.

I'll take the doors on the top of the end of the map, and let Clark take room 402 on the opposite end.

The first hallway checked did not appear to locate the suspect. Agent CLARK walks over to you and quietly say's AC: "I didn't hear anything suspicious. Let's check the other hallway then take it from there..." Ref: roll OBS for the other hallway

You and Agent CLARK walk past the elevator lobby and start checking doors along the hallway. After you check room 415 and room 408, you hear the slight sound of a door creak, shut then a lock being applied. It appears to have come from the room next door. Room 414...

You kick the door and it cracks but fails to open. Agent CLARK then say's "Let me try." He then steps back and kicks the door. The door breaks at the latch and then swings open slamming against the interior wall with a loud bang. The sound of the door slamming is immediately followed by the sound of a gunshot. The bullet whizzes between you and Agent CLARK as you are attempting to enter the room...

You go to fire you 45 Auto and it jams! You will need to clear it before you can continue firing...You also successfully back out of the room (5' range) and behind the door way. Agent CLARK immediately runs from the room and takes cover on the opposite side to you. When you both are outside the room you hear the unmistakable of a "tommy gun" fire a burst out the open door and into the door across the hall. A loud male voice can be heard yelling "take that coppers!"

Agent CLARK is in partial cover peering into the room. There are 2 known goons inside. One with a pistol. the other with a tommy gun... Ref: what do you do next?

Your 45 slug strikes him in the right shoulder causing him to jerk back from impact. Agent CLARK also fires from cover at the same goon... AG: 86 roll d100 = 03 Agent CLARK hits the goon in the head causing him to stumble back against the wall behind him... The goon fires a reactive burst (10 rounds) when hit towards you and Agent CLARK. AG: 58 -10 mod roll 46 = 56 You are hit on the right arm (3 points), Agent CLARK is hit on the left arm (3 points)...

The back of his head explodes with a spray of skull blood and brains onto the window behind him. His body drops to the ground on top of the sub-machine gun he was firing... The second goon has a open shot at Agent CLARK and fires... AG: 58 d100 = 74 The bullet slams into the door frame next to Agent CLARKS head... Ref: 3rd round completed. 3 rounds of your and Agent CLARKS guns have been shot or ejected (jam). What do you do next? If you consult the 414 map the goon (B) is in the room farthest from the door...
