Many, many years ago, I read a German translation of an English fantasy story.
It featured a Prince named "Randor" who, to save his lady love, had to survive a dungeon-like maze in a desert country.
Any idea who was the author of this one?
The story was not very good, but for some reason, it never quite left me.
Thanks,
Rafe

I'm stunned that not one person-member-guest knows the answer to this. I, of course, don't either. Sorry.

Maybe Randor was turned into Rancor ans hé ended into Jabba's pit. Sorry I don't know either.

Thank you! The one I am looking for is older, though - much older. I figure, from the very early 70s. "Randor" as a name is not uncommon even in the real world; it's an old Celtic word for "shield", simply. A warrior's name, indeed.

...I am betting on a translated story from the old "Swords Against Darkness" anthologies, but I haven't got all of them yet.

The only other result I got from searching for Randor was He-Man's father. Do you remember any other characters?

Nope. It was a desert adventure, and it featured a maze. In retrospect, it felt a bit "Dragon Prince"-ish, but I've read the entire series, and the story is not from there.
