Glad to see the support. I got the email too.
But these covers are awful. They inspire me to let them sit on the shelf not pick them up.
4e/3e DCCRPG covers are orders of magnitude better

My guess is that their plan is to have different artwork to distinguish one product line from another, but I'll admit that some of the other modules are a lot cooler than these.

Briarwood? That's a fairly bold choice for a name, in terms of copyright. Should it be that Wizbro is finally softening its stance on the brand-damaging setting lock-up?
(Briarwood, many might know from the Wilderlands, but most recently, the name popped up in a now-vintage Dragon Magazine.)

Using the name Briarwood doesn't look like that big copyright infringment, having been used also in other fields.

Yeah, the reference escaped me. Not that I'm a scholar of the Forgotten Realms, which is the WotC default world. (I'm not sure that the Goodman modules are written for any specific setting. I suspect they are generic in that regard.)

Minirant: I do realize Joe has created a theme for each edition's products, but this one is just horrible. 3e, 4e, DCC. All those look fantastic, and generally have inspiring art on the cover. Have we not had enough " look at me, I am a badass PC" art from 3rd edition and PF? Show me scenes and landscapes, and locations. Glamour shots are not going to get me to pick up a product. Its a pet peeve, and not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it's enough for me to skip over a product on the shelf. Thank God they did not do this for the MA art (I supported that KS). Ok. Deep breath.

Show me scenes and landscapes, and locations. A pet peeve of mine, too. One of my all-time favourite pieces of RPG art is the cover of the old RuneQuest Pavis boxed set from Chaosium, because that one picture immediately conveyed the feel of the whole setting. Another one is Emirikol the Chaotic, of course ...

Briarwood is a location in the Lortmil Mountains in Greyhawk. It had some coverage during 3e. - Indeed, not that big a copyright infringement, but a fairly bold move, compared to how GG usually evades all obvious references like the plague.

Briarwood is a pretty generic name, several settings have places with that name. There is even a Briarwood neighbourhood in New York. It's not a Greyhawk or Wilderlands reference, deal with it, please, Sir.

I... I will try to cope, yes, yes.
Seriously, though, well, either GG didn't know, or didn't care. In either case, I remain surprised, and hope for MOAR.
