Which group of skeletons are nearest Mortimer at the Scholar's Inn? If he is close enough to make a turn attempt at a group he hasn't tried to turn before, and still use a round to run back to the inn, he will try.
Otherwise he will bravely cower in the safety of the Inn!!!
You can hear the skeletons rattling at the door. After 10 minutes, the rattling stops. The proprietor says "I think they've gone. I haven't seen the skeletons in broad daylight before. I have seen them at night. They may rise from one of the tenements behind. Perhaps the Undertaker, the Funeral Parlor, or the Hangman have something to do with them."
Mortimer peeks out of the doors to the scholar's inn... Does it appear that the skeleton infestation has abated? If it's safe to move out into the street, he will do so, and look about to see which direction they have gone. But none too close!

Quasmus sets two gold coins upon the counter to thank the proprietor for sheltering the assembled from onslaught of skeletons.
"Our thanks to you, good sir! Your stout workshop appears to have weathered the wave of skeletons handily! No better advertisement for your wares than that! A pity I am unschooled in the proper use of the shield ... Perhaps one of my companions needs one, however? My mood is spendy!"
You cross the street (uneventfully!) to the Scholars Inn. The clientele seems to be students, traders, and maybe some rougher characters. There are also clearly some ladies of the night seeking tricks.
Rooms are 5 GP per week, meals 1 SP, Ale 2 CP, furs 1 CP
