Boy, I can’t stand Wookiepedia. There’s just TOO much info. I wish there were a Star Wars Wiki that only included the original trilogy plus maybe some other early scripts and adaptations. Is there one? Or can we make one?

I know the feeling. Following some thoughts in the "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" thread, I did a search on SW books by publication date and it led me to Wookipedia. I did a quick copy-paste, only to discover something like seven pages of book titles.
No interest in 90% of them, nor their content mixed in with the "real thing."

A few weeks ago, the databank at starwars.com purged all EU information so it is now fairly minimal. No information about the early novels unfortunately.

I've occasionally thought about the concept of a "80's and earlier only" wiki for Star Wars, but didn't think there'd be enough interest. I, too, have no real interest in the newer info, and immense interest in the classic stuff (in-universe as well as behind the scenes/production details.) Most sources out there now seem irrevocably tainted by new info...
hedgehobit: the official databank has always been a decent source for info, particularly since they were good about keeping Expanded Universe and so on properly labeled and separated. I think we're about to enter a new age of "contamination" though, since they claim ALL new fiction will be passed through Lucasfilm and all will be "canon" from now on (same level of writing and imagination behind it though, I'd imagine... which is a problem)

No information about the early novels unfortunately. starwars.com/databank I'm not an expert on Wookieepedia, but they're marking EU information with a "Legends" banner, which marks the Disney announcement that they're officially ditching the EU. So, you may be able to back yourself into an OT-only reading by not reading things with the "Legends" banner. Of course the Rebels cartoon will probably start piling on new non-OT content in short order. But that might help inform your reading a bit. starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars_Legends
