Soval, Hallam, and Einar continue to close cautiously, hoping to join the battle to maximum effect at the earliest opportunity. Grim does likewise, except that if there is an open line he will charge in with his pole axe with rather less caution instead!

Legandir fits another arrow to his bow and, keeping an eye on the melee at his right, scans the darkness in front for further surprises.

Sili turns immediately to attack the second Troll, as Elindir drops his bow and whips out his bright Elvish blade and the spear wall of Eohild, Dernfara and Dalain press forward in support. Norin comes barreling in from its flank followed by Soval and his brave Men.

Lomeluin restrings his bow while Telthalion and Legandir search, eagle eyed for a shot at the foe but dare not risk firing into the tumult for fear of wounding or slaying an ally.

Initiative is rolled [1d6; Sili=4, Troll=3].

Sili is the faster [1d20=3] but his flail blow thunks harmlessly off the monster's thick hide before it retaliates [1d20=14] with a shuddering blow that rings off Sili's helm, but by his trusty armour the Dwarf is unharmed!

Eohild the spear-maiden, Dernfara her country Man and Dalain all thrust at the enemy [1d20=7,15,11] with Dernfara doing the beast hurt [2dd=4,1] for 5 hit points.

Now Norin arrives [1d20=6] but the Troll deflects his hammer blow aside upon its scaly, trunk-like arm.

Telthalion, Lomeluin, Celglin and those nearest now hear a clatter of heavy feet from the passage immediately behind them, and turn to see the shadows of more Trolls terribly near!

Lómëluin turns on the spot with an almost unnatural grace and sends an arrow flying at Troll #3. "Fall back on Legandir! Keep clear and keep shooting!" he commands Telthalion.

He himself then breaks left towards where Dernfara and Elindir are engaging Troll #1, hoping multiple targets moving in opposite directions might befuddle the Trolls' tiny minds long enough for the reinforcements to make their presence felt...

Soval will move forward with his lantern to strike troll #1 with his blade, hoping to make space for his men to fight with him. His primary focus is on the battle, but as he approaches he will peer towards the shadows to see if there is any more sign of troll #2 from the previous round.
