The company continues it exploration of the perimeter... and soon locates yet another means of egress -- a third great way to the east. This broad passage neither descends nor ascends, but continues at the present elevation. Vague echoes of distant clangs are scarcely audible only to the Elves nearest.
[1d6=2]
Before any considers going further, there comes a throaty snarl from much closer at hand, and all present are immediately aware of several pairs of eyes, glinting back reflections of Vestri and Hepti's torches from the great dark of the central part of the West Hall -- perhaps 10 or 20ft beyond the reach of your light.
There comes a racket of heavy clubbed feet as the Trolls charge from the shadows to the attack once more!
Neither party is surprised.
What are your intentions for the coming melee round?

Elindir nocks his bow and readies to shoot as soon as the trolls come into plain view. If his fellows charge the beasts before a the darkness clears to trolls approach, the half-elf will instead draw sword and fallow them into battle.

Eremin Sulk, the sneak, will hide in whatever convenient place presents itself. If he has an opportunity to stick it to one of the trolls from behind (i.e.; with minimum risk to himself), he'll take it.
But he won't risk his life meaninglessly; that's what all the soldier types are here for.

Lómëluin Lets fly an arrow at Troll Number 2, snapping a clipped order in Sindarin for Telthalion to do the same. They will both then fall back, allowing the fighters to melee with the monsters, continuing to fire whenever a clear shot is to be had.

Lady Éohild will enter the battle. When in range she will throw her spear at a troll in hopes to pin the creature to the ground then along side the others joining her in the attack, together hack it to pieces with her sword using shield to protect herself. "Barald come back me up", she orders her mercenary.
"Come on all", she shouts, "this is what we come for, lets fight to free Moria".

Sili charges into battle side-by-side with Norin, hoping to prevent Troll #1 from advancing further toward the party. "Eat flail, spider kisser!" he shouts in a language only the Dwarfs can understand.

Elindir and Legandir fire their ready arrows at the nearest Troll [1d20=13, 9] both their missiles striking true for [2dd=2,3 and 3,3] 3 and 6 hit points respectively. Lomeluin & Telthalion simultaneously shoot at the other Troll [1d20=1,12] but Lomeluin's bowstring breaks before his shot is ever loosed. Telthalion hits [2dd=5,6] for 6 hit points.
Sili charges through the gap between the half-Elves, with Eohild, Dernfara and Dalain marching forward at pace, more or less holding their spear wall formation, while behind them in the column Eremin and Ardenbard are sure to get out of harm's way.
Both Trolls make for Elindir as he backpedals, the first reaching him just as Sili arrives. There is a fearsome crash as the 8ft tall monsters thunders it great cudgel fist at Elindir [1d20=9] but only splits stone. The second monster veers toward Sili at the last moment [initiative is rolled 1d6; Sili=5, Troll=2], but Sili has fought Trolls before and knows their movements. He strikes with his flail first [1d20=17] smashing it for [2dd=4,2] 7 hit points.
Now Eohild, Dernfara and Dalain attack with their spears [1d20=13,11,16] all three making sound stabs at the reckless foe [2dd=6,4 and 2,4 and 1,2] for 8, 5 and 2 hit points respectively. The massive Troll is punctured by arrows, thumped by flail and now impaled upon spears and falls to the ground with a mighty clatter!
Meanwhile, Norin, Soval and Barald close in on the remaining Troll will not reach it this round.

Lómëluin sets about re-stringing his bow, cursing quietly but vehemently in a manner that would make a Dwarf blush, (assuming the Dwarf spoke Sindarin...)
Once done, he turns his fire on the other Troll. Telthalion sends another arrow at this foe as swiftly as he may.
