Minion is clearly ashamed of his poor performance in the fight, but tries to put it out of his mind as quickly as possible as he is helped to the sidelines.
He looks at Vina and says "I know you can't tell, but I'm smiling" and attempts a small laugh. "Thank you," he says to her "these ways are strange to me. I've spent the last few weeks in close company with mortal danger, and it's hard to get used to the idea that not every threat is a deadly one."

Minion asks Vina to join them at the cookout, where he proceeds to humbly narrate recent tales of his own daring and heroics, including his dream-journey into the endless black gulfs of space and time!

Minion agrees with Clubber that the death of the unfortunate green woman this morning was regrettable, and bemoans the sad fate she had gotten herself into. "And yes, we did manage to take one of them alive, thankfully. She is confused and distraught, undoubtedly the victim of soulless Deep One scheming. Would you agree to probe her mind. Perhaps you could help her come to her senses."

"It's okay," consoles Vina. "A real man learns from his defeats as well as his victories." [Indeed, her pep-talk helps Minion feel a bit more experienced -- he has reached 2nd level!]

Meanwhile Clubber mind-probes your prisoner Parsley Green and gets her whole life story: Born in Innsmouth, many adventures at sea, captured and brainwashed by Deep Ones for their breeding program. Clubber offers to ransom her back to her people for deprogramming and split 50/50 with the party.

Clubber also offers the services of as many green man guards as you'd like for 84sp each per month.

It is probably a good time to settle on your list of Retainers to mind the house while you are away. So far I have Vociferous Bastard (running the household for 0sp, what a chump), Vina (helping Minion with research for 75sp/mo), and an unspecified number of guards (84), laborers (56), craftsmen (100), etc.

I have calculated the cost at 1,350sp (plus labor!) to renovate and furnish the house to Average standard of living, with two rooms at the higher Fancy standard. It will take approximately 30 days depending on the supply of labor. Does that sound fair?

This is also your opportunity to visit the Treasure thread and gear up! Don't worry about food and so forth, the Museum will provide that as part of the expedition.

Stay tuned for Episode 15, which will lay out the details of your expedition... my hope is to tie up all loose ends in Arkham and get underway in the next 24-48 hours (real world time).
