The Shadow stands at his full 7' height and glares down at the Purple Stranger, his mottled jale skin swirling in anger and fury.
"You will haunt my dreams no more, purple man. I only wish your body was of some use to me. Alas, it is not."
With that said, he places his foot on the back of the Purple Stranger's head and pushes his face into the dirt. He will hold it there for several minutes after he stops moving.
If that isn't possible, for whatever reason, The Shadow will simply kick the Purple Stranger in the head. Repeatedly.
(Ehhh... a bit morbid, but in line with the general atmosphere of the game, wouldn't you agree?)

Shadow rolls 5+1=6! and presses his foot on the back of the Purple Stranger's neck.
Shadow's had a rough night and takes it out on the Purple Man for 1d10=8; 1d10= 6 hp damage!
Minutes later, the Stranger stops twitching and Shadow takes stock of the situation: thanks to his bizarre unexplained crystalline structure, he now has 1 hit point and may move, fight, and act as normal. Basically he's a walking statue, and he's crash-landed in a hostile jungle who-knows-where...

He first searches the body of the Purple Stranger for anything of use - i.e. the gun. Then he looks around to take in his surroundings and figure out where to go from here...
Does he have any indication as to where they were coming from or where they were going to and what directions those might be?

Shadow has all his own armor, weapons, and gear, plus he finds the Stranger's pistol nearby! His studded leather armor is shredded and useless (and much too small for you anyway). The rest of his gear must have been in the dragonfly's saddlebags.
Then he looks around to take in his surroundings and figure out where to go from here...

Shadow first woke up in the foothills of an immense volcanic cone. You may remember the strange bleeding boulder. Then you got on the dragonfly and flew south. So if you could spot the volcano on the horizon, you'd know which was was north.
But all you can see in every direction is thick jungle canopy!

The Shadow picks up the Stranger's pistol and makes sure it still looks functional.
Looking about him, he realizes he cannot possibly get his bearings while under the jungle canopy. He briefly contemplates climbing a tree, but, glancing at his crystalline body, ponders what might happen should he fall and slowly shakes his head.
"Guess one way is as good as any other."
He looks to see what way the body of the Stranger is facing and, for no reason in particular, chooses to go the opposite direction.
Knowing he has been here before, and that he was eventually brought back to his friends, he is simply hoping to stay out of trouble until such a time as his return.

Very well, Shadow travels in a random direction (1d6)...
Moving through the dense jungle is not easy. As consolation, Shadow notices that his newly crystalline skin seems less susceptible to scratches from the thorns and razor-sharp leaves.
As the sun sinks lower in the sky, Shadow deduces that he is moving in a northwest direction. Directly ahead he sees an apparition of his companion Minion of the Unholy Fragnog. Moving closer he sees the ghostly Minion eating, drinking, and laughing. The vision only lasts a few minutes, then vanishes, but Shadows interprets it as a good omen and continues in that direction.
Towards nightfall, Shadow hears the sound of running water and moves to investigate. The jungle is interrupted by a line of 100' rocky cliffs. A waterfall cascades into a large, calm pool that looks cool and refreshing. It is an idyllic tropical scene, and Shadow pauses a moment to consider his next move...

No sign of the volcano over the treetops. However if Shadow's sense of direction (based on the angle of the setting sun) is correct, the cliffs directly ahead are in the right direction. Perhaps the water cascading down their face originates from some volcanic pool...
Climbing in the dark might be kind of scary though.

The Shadow finds a secret cave behind the waterfall. It is free of monsters and would make an awesome hiding spot for the night. If you have any pre-bedtime preparations let me know. You might also want to lurk on the Episode 10 thread...

The moon rises over the alien jungle and illuminates the waterfall and the deep pool beneath. The water ripples as a nocturnal creature rises to the surface for its nighttime hunt.
Shadow slumbers blissfully in his cave, completely oblivious to the approaching danger... his fate is in the hands of the Mountain God now!

The watery curtain that separates Shadow's cave from the jungle outside is pierced by an eye at the end of a long stalk... it blinks, then withdraws. A few seconds later, the eye-stalk returns, joined by four others! The eyes regard Shadow, who is still sleeping soundly.
The eye-stalks are attached to a giant crustacean. Its multicolored scales glisten yellow, ulfire, jale, and orange in the moonlight. It hoists itself into the cave and hovers over Shadow, rotating clockwise, then counter-clockwise, as though not sure which of its four mouths to eat him with.
Suddenly the creature freezes and its antennae quiver. In its ancient language it clicks and squirts the words Yesssss, Massssster.
Shadow has an 80% chance to survive and rolls... 96. He has failed to withstand adversity!
The crustacean-creature lifts Shadow gently in its claws and scuttles back into the pool. By the time Shadow is aware of the danger, it is too late! He draws a breath to scream, but his lungs fill with water!
A voice in his mind: Be still, my child, don't fight it...
The Shadow of the Evermore's Soul has defended itself against The Purple Stranger and will be rewarded with eternal slumber in the embrace of the Watery Death.
