Let's see, Jariel should still have some flasks of oil, if so, he will toss one on the dragon if the space seems large enough to do so without splashing Kell.

OOC: I'm reminded of Jerry Clower's Coon Huntin' story http://youtu.be/-4FUhUHOhwU ..."Well, just shoot up here amongst us, one of us has got to have some relief!"

Flandil's Phantasmal Forces slaughters the defending guards, sweeping them away. The onrushing characters peer over the edge and see Kell and the dragon. The dragon itself unfortunately does not speak! He breathes frosty frostness at Kell, who dives for cover. He rolls a 20 for his save and only takes 6 damage!

"Wooo!" Kell hollers as he dives again seeking more cover, "This thing is killin' me! Somebody shoot down here amongst us!"

Kell does have good saving throws, a magic hammer, and gets 2 attacks per round. He COULD just kill the d**n thing (just an option!)

((OOC: I assume Flandil cannot move while concentrating on his spell?))

Flandil's magical archers reload and stand ready if any any further guards should appear from down the corridor ahead.

OOC: I am pretty sure Kar Komak of Barsoom was the inspiration for the spell Phantasmal Forces, so I am especially pleased with Flandil

Can Yhency send his dancing sword down a 20' pit to attack the white dragon? Probably not, but I thought it might not hurt to ask?

If William can move forward enough to see the pit, he'll gather up his men and have the ones who can get close fire on the dragon.

If that seems impractical (it sounds crowded up there), he'll advance by himself, mace held high, and leap down upon the fell beastie, swinging his mace as he does.

If it's too crowded to shoot at the dragon, Jariel will hold back.

Is there room for anyone else up there? If not, let's go ahead an spin a round of combat.

With the others trying to distract the dragon from above, Kell will try to get up close and attack him!

"Wolfsbane, attack the Dragon!" Yhency sends his sword to Kell's rescue. Meanwhile he starts pulling out his bow and launches arrows as soon as he can.

Okay, only Yhency and his men know what is happening in the pit. Yhency throws his sword at the 12-foot-long white lizard, and it rights itself and attacks like it is being wielded by a hand! Kell is heartened by this support, and attacks the beast with renewed determination. Flinn and Westbrook work together to lower a rope, while Indigo draws his sword and leaps onto the dragon's back! The others rushing up to see what is going on in the pit destroy Flandil's illusion.

Kell crushes the beast's skull with a wicked hammer blow, and it is still reeling when Yhency's sword scythes its way into its heart. It collapses, dead. Indigo triumphantly stabs it in the back and crows "Yes! I killed the dragon!"

There are no more guards approaching.

MECHANICS
Initiative: Party - 5, Dragon - 1
Kell, two attacks: 20, 13; hits once for 7 damage
Dancing sword, two attacks: 6, 17, hits once for 6 damage, dragon dies!
Indigo: 19; hits an already dead beast
