Hi Guys

I am frustrated with the game. I know real life hits hard - I often go AWOL for a while. My problem I am having as it does not seem that the players are much engaged. Many people post once per week, it seems hard to get a more detailed plan than "we proceed onwards", and I should not be making decisions for you.

Are people still interested in the game? Are you okay with me (or Frank, the caller) making decisions for characters who have not posted after two days? It could get quite bloody...

I'm certainly still interested, but don't always want to be the first person suggesting things. I try and mix it up, sometimes waiting, sometimes putting my two cents in sooner than later.

I'd definitely like us to be able to move forward if someone hasn't responded. A two day wait seems reasonable normally, but in combat, I'd like to make that turn around quicker. A thought for combat is wait no more than a day if no one was wounded (or even if no one was wounded significantly), and up to two days if waiting for a critical response. If it really looks like "just another round of combat" I could even see pushing for quicker turnaround than one day if at least a couple people have responded. I'm happy in my role of caller to help push things along by declaring we're ready for another round.

If anyone wants to give standing orders just let us all know. I know Makofan already assumes we sacrifice our shield if a blow would kill. Do you want to automatically fall back, or quaff healing or anything if severely wounded?

But I'd also like to see us all be a bit more engaged. If you are interested but finding you don't have the time to pay close attention, let us know, we can put your character on semi-autopilot and you can chime in when you have time. In the meantime, that might allow us to recruit another player or two.

Hi Makofan,

I know (from my own pbps) that it can be frustrating to have not enough input from the players.

A couple of days is a fair enough time frame for a player to respond IMHO.

My apologies if I haven't been "taking the lead"... in general I've had Gallaine follow the others rather than lead, so I'm happy that she follow the caller's lead if I don't post anything otherwise.

Mako, yes, I'm still interested! With me teaching 7 sections this term (3 morning and 4 night...yuck!), I'm finding it hard to find time during the day for more than quick read and short posts, and by the time I get home at night (after 9 pm) I'm just not getting on the computer all that much. That's my excuse.

I AM interested in the game, though, and I always read the posts and try to make timely (if short) replies for Kelmult.

Thanks for running the game. I hope you feel like you can continue.

I've been around pbp games long enough to know that posting rate waxes and wanes. We're just in a trough right now, and I'm sure we'll pull out soon.

i agree with the other posts here as well for a quicker and if that means blodier turnaround time. I know my own posting has been spotty at times and sometimes i am afraid to post as the board seems to go very quiet after for days after i do. Mako knows me well enough and we have discussed this character enough that if I'm awol for a day i do not mind him acting for me. I truly try to check in every day and if my input is need i do try to post.

I'm still interested in the game.

I'm not much of a leader (except when people just cannot reach a decision -- I just have a shorter tolerance for boredom than some people). But I have been enjoying the game, and I'd really like to see where it goes.

If that means I need to post more, just say the word and I'll do it.

And have yet another exalt for running this for us. We really do appreciate it!

What would help is if a plan is being discussed, if folks would post that they concur with the plan. That would help speed things up. We try to wait for input from everyone. I appreciate brumbar letting us know about his availability, that does really help.

I, too, am still interested in the game. I normally check in once per day, and try to post something if anything new has happened since my last post. I do admit that my posts tend to be fairly short, but that's just the way I am, I don't think I've ever written long-winded posts, even as a DM!

Glad to see you guys are still trucking along. I wish I had made more time for this over the last couple of years, but life and work required that something give.

If I'm still checking the forums daily in another month, I'll consider throwing in for a spot here. I've always enjoyed Mako's adventure.

As I said, I want to make sure that I'm back for a bit here, and that I'm not just in a lull in life and get things rolling and have to bail again. If you asked me today, I'd say yes, I'm in; but let's see in a few weeks. I want to be a positive influence on the game, not an anchor.
