If she can get past everyone else, Gallaine will advance cautiously to the corner ahead. Before she actually peers around the corner, she listens for any noises that might be coming from beyond... if all sounds quiet, she will sneak a very cautious look around the corner (keeping the lantern well hidden from whomever might be lurking beyond).

Before the cautious Gallaine can act, the head of the party moves into the room, and a nightmarish caterpillar bends down from the ceiling and flails its tentacles at Kell! Kell is attacked by 8 tentacles with rolls of 14,6,6,10,11,1,14,19 and gets hit once. Kell saves vs paralysis and rolls an 18! He can feel the paralyzing saliva on his skin, but his rugged dwarven constitution shakes it off.

Kell stumbles back a couple of strides as he turns (to let others into the room or give a line of fire for a spell) and then chops at the awful beast that is hanging from the ceiling!

Jariel's second sleep spell causes the caterpillar to fall off the ceiling and lie stunned on the floor. The light in the room shows no other movement. It should be safe to hack the bodies

The room is a heap of old, decayed piles of what may one day have been wood. Under one of the piles, Kell finds a vast amount of silver pieces, shining like newly minted.
