You are diagonally SE of teh cube, trapped between the cube and the kitchen

Gallaine, hearing the commotion, retraces her steps west, then south (from "you are here"), so that she can see westward thru the doorways to the secret door.

If the cube comes into sight she fires an arrow into it, but will flee before it gets too close.

"Hold it off with missiles, if you can," William says.

Then he tears off a strip of his cloak to make a mask. Wrapping it around his face (for the smoke), he opens the kitchen door and goes in down on his hands and knees. He has his mace and shield stowed on his back, but does have a throwing hammer in his right hand.

He'll make for the north door out of the kitchen. That seems to be our best option.

Gunther and Gallaine take shots at the cube and then follow the people retreating to the kitchen. Charles scampers with William, but Lawrence and Peter think they can hold it off with their polearms

Gunther's snap (15)shot thunks solidly into the centre of the gelatinous monstrosity for 6 damage, but Gallaine's hasty shot (4) misses the mark. The cube plops into the room, and Lawrence (14) and Peter (8) poke at it. Lawrence gashes it for 5 damage. The cube then rolls over the two men-at-arms in a complete envelopment. They don't even have time to scream before they are engulfed!

Any change in plans? The cube has rolled 20 feet (south and then east)

Seeing the horrible way in which the two men died, Gallaine will fire once more at the cube, then pull her cloak over her lower face and follow the retreat into the smoke-filled room...

Gunther is not; relying on his infravision instead.

Gunther will head back into the torture chamber area, hoping that the cube will continue on into the smoke-filled kitchen. Can't imagine that the smoke will bother the cube. Gunther will take care to shut the door to the torture chamber and attempt to hold it shut.

Gallaine relies on her infravision if necessary, fleeing to the smoke filled room, and then making her way by feel around the northern wall until she encounters a door.
