 Ready Ref Sheets
« Thread Started on Oct 17, 2011, 3:23pm »

I was bored the other day and wanted some "back in the day" inspiration so I dusted off a copy and I was amazed at how much stuff is in this one booklet. I had totally forgotten that half of it was even in there! :o

If you've never seen a copy of Judges Guild's "Ready Ref Sheets" you should track one down. It's one of the best JG products out there, along with Arneson's FFC booklet.

It's like a DMG for OD&D. ;D

Yup, Ready Ref Sheets are one of the best OD&D resources ever put out there.

I like the fact that they have the Chainmail, Alternate Combat, AND Greyhawk combat tables..... :-)

Isn't there a publisher that currently offers this in print? If so (I may be fantasizing :P), how different from the original is it?

I know you can still get it here in PDF form:
http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=932&it=1

You can also still find originals floating around. I bought a used one on Amazon.com a few months ago for about $5.00.

Different Worlds has a seemingly unlimited stash of the original.

I bought two copies from Different Worlds, just a few months ago. According to their website, they still have some in stock, along with just a few other JG items left.

So, you can get a new print copy for $2.99 + shipping. ;D

I've ordered from them twice this year and I'll heartily recommend Different Worlds. Good communication. Fast service.

I got my copy of the RRS from Different Worlds today, and I'm amazed at its condition - it may as well just have rolled off the presses. Thanks for the heads-up!

Imagine WotC selling pristine OD&D booklets for $3 apiece. Well, they could!

Hell, one day just for fun I decided to grab 10 copies of the Ready Ref Sheets for a measly $30. Different Worlds didn’t even bat an eye, by the way. And now I’m set for life! Get ’em while you can!

Yeah, the Ready Ref Sheets are a gem - the single most useful product for OD&D outside of the rulebooks themselves. The monster listing, all the to-hit charts on the same page, and the sheer number of awesome tables are astonishing (my favorite is probably Startling Statues, what fun). It reflects an entire world of options in something very simple and straightforward.

I picked mine up from Different Worlds some time back and it is indeed in pristine condition. My only complaint is that pp. 3-4 are misaligned and the top of each paragraph on those pages is cut to the quick. Still legible, but there was definitely a boo-boo in the printing process. Anyone else have this problem with there copy or was this simply an error in the one I have?

I'm not really complaining, just wondering.
