Josiane considers their dilema. She is keen to undertake the agreed task for the Sisters so that Olaf may be fully free of his fell curse. At the same time, she is convinced the greater danger lies here in Ket. The dwarf in their care might provide the first concrete information she has been able to obtain as to it's true nature and purpose.
If the vexing little fellow would only wake up...
"I am uncertain as to our next course of action," she confesses freely; "I shall give the matter some contemplation."
And with that she retires to the garden to enjoy the sunny afternoon and await signs of heavenly guidance...
"Look at these letters, Ulric," points out Highbough. "They spell the name 'Copernicus.' I wonder if that is the name of our vertically-challenged houseguest?"
"That is possible," answers Ulric, "But I wonder if he did the work below against his will or if he was imprisoned because of his work. More questions I'm afraid and no answers. Let us go and see what the others are up to."
Sipping his (milked) tea, he ponders Dorgans thoughts, "Indeed, my good dwarf", he replies, "a most astute assessment of the current state of affairs. I suggest we consult with our learned colleague here", tipping a brow toward Ulric , "in the hope that he has garnered some intelligence on our new 'friend'. As for our next move, I agree that the underdark beneath our house remains an uncomfortable threat, but others may...think otherwise"
Ulric had just walked into the kitchen when Gustave pointed him out to the rest of the company.
"I think it is clear that the manacle on the dwarf's ankle keeps him in a magical sleep. As long as it stays on him he will not be a threat. I have copied all of the arcane symbols. If I have a day to prepare, I can read them and perhaps find out how to unlock the manacle. But we should perhaps not rush to that. We can keep him secure in a locked room away from prying eyes."
Ulric takes some food and chews for a moment before continuing.
"As far as our trip to secure those relics, we still need provisions, equipment, some pack bearers and perhaps a few hired swords to watch over this place in our absence. I do not wish to leave Ket unprepared again."
"I think that both Olaf and Dieter are anxious to begin our task to settle matters with the good Mother and end Olaf's curse. Let us get prepared and get it done. It's only midday now, let's see how much we can get done."

Olaf says "I didn't want to waste time killing bugs this morning, but having seen the *extent* of what is below this house I'm not happy about leaving with it half explored, untamed, and with whatever is down there now knowing that somebody is aware of what is down there."
"We have a deal with the Sisters and we should live up to our deals, but leaving *now* puts this house and all in it at risk." frowning he continues, "It is a quandary that I can't quite work out...do we stay or do we go?"

"Perhaps", contributes Gustave, licking the last crumbs of toast from his fingers, "some of us could use this afternoon to make preparations for our little walk in the country, while others investigate a means of waking our smelly friend. I agree that a second sortee into the cellars would be a strategically preferable approach ere we depart on a long journey, but I would rather return there armed with whatever intelligence that gu-wore can provide."
"If our man Ulric here believes he has a chance or removing this manacle that may be the key to his sustained somnia, then I propose we allow him to try, while the rest of us use the time to prepare for Olafs expedition...and, perhaps - if time allows, of course - for a little tasting or two?" he adds with a brow raised at Dorgan.
"I need a shield," Dieter says, without fuss or fanfare.
"I'm jus' finishing this one up today," says Hans indicating the fine shield he is working on, "It's fer another fella. I can do you another one tamorrow if ye like,"
"Good, " Dieter says. "I'll return tomorrow, or the next day."

"I will need a full night's rest to accomplish this task by sorcery. But," Ulric pauses to down the last of his cup of tea, "the library my also be of use. I can also look into some other matters while I am there. It would be useful if Highbough would accompany me."
"I can provide coin to those procuring provisions and equipment. I think that Dieter and Olaf should set about hiring some guards and pack bearers. I have heard their names mentioned in awe by sell swords more than once on the streets."

Dorgan nods right back at The Gustave. "I'd love ta sit down and strategery over a strong drink or seven, friend, but the Marrowstone is more important. The strength of an entire mountain lies within it, if'n I can figure out how ta unlock it."

"Ah...right you are then", says Gustave with clear disappointment, "though I for one would prefer the company of a fine red than...a rock - not to belittle your marrowstone of course, I wish you the best of luck!"
He stands, refits his sword and nods to the company, "I will see about some supplies for the voyage then, we should be ready for a second trip to the cellars on the morrow and to leave for the hills in 2 days"

Josiane finds herself a pleasant nook in the garden and sits, watching trees, sky, wildlife... grumbling two-headed hobbits poking around in the middle of the lawn... anything that might give her an insight into her White Lady's wishes as to her next course of action.
