The pantry is stocked with food stuffs adequate for most of a week. The basic staples -- bread, butter, jam, fruit, eggs, flour, and so on -- are easy to locate. Gustave and Josiane put together a basic board of foods, which is enough to satisfy the troop's immediate need, at any rate.

"So... What's the the plan for dealing with stinky while we have to leave for several days to try and recover those holy books? Shall we leave him with a key and tell him to please lock up if he leaves?"

Ulric takes the vial of alleged poison with thanks then makes his way to Highbough's room to join his fellow scholar in examining the details of golem construction. However, Ulric remains conscious of the time and their other commitments.
"Such a thing would make a fine guard," he says after some study. "But let us get some food and rejoin the other for a while. We must plan our next step. We still have a shrine to raid, giant centipedes to kill, and a warren of tunnels beneath our feet to explore."

"Look at these letters, Ulric," points out Highbough. "They spell the name 'Copernicus.' I wonder if that is the name of our vertically-challenged houseguest?"

Dorgan will not emerge from his room until lunchtime. He will volunteer for Guore guard duty, if needed, but otherwise will return to his room as soon as he has supped.
Before he leaves, though, he'll bring up two points.
1. "We need ta come ta an agreement on what ta do with the Guore. Whether we go back downstairs or head out inta the wilderness for the Sisters, we can't leave him behind."
2. "I think we oughta take one more look downstairs tomorrow before we head outta town. I'd like ta make sure ain't no one else livin' beneath our house."
EDIT: Modified to show this conversation happened at lunch, not dinner.

Gustave looks up from his delicate nibbling of a piece of toast as a variety of others dribble in to forage.
"Rum eh?" he muses as Olafs comment, "yes, well. Some 1242 St Sebastiens would go down even better with a nice slab of Gefore, but one must make do I suppose..."
Sipping his (milked) tea, he ponders Dorgans thoughts, "Indeed, my good dwarf", he replies, "a most astute assessment of the current state of affairs. I suggest we consult with our learned colleague here", tipping a brow toward Ulric , "in the hope that he has garnered some intelligence on our new 'friend'. As for our next move, I agree that the underdark beneath our house remains an uncomfortable threat, but others may...think otherwise"

The Streets of Ket Dieter
While the others are supping on tea and nibbling bread and a jam, Dieter is striding grimly through the streets of Ket. Strange, it seems, how the common folk are so blissfully unaware of the danger and machinations that are going on in tunnels and catacombs right beneath their feet!
Dieter growls to himself as he strides along, heading downhill toward Bow Street, the mill, and beyond that the forge of Hans the smith.
Unexpectedly, and gaggle of street urchins seem to take an interest in him, and woop and chortle about, saying "Mister, are you the Ogre-Slayer?" and "Of course he's Ogre-Slayer!" and "Show us your sword!" and making a general fuss over him.
The porters and merchants and other street traffic keep a respectful distance, but Dieter can feel their eyes on him and their awe of him.
Eventually he reaches the Anvil and Hans, where Hans himself is is busily working out a fancy looking shield. As Dieter approaches his two apprentices pause in the work and whisper to themselves excitedly as they spot the grim fighter. Apparently his reputation has spread even this far...
Eventually Hans looks up and sees Dieter. He seems nonplussed, however, and barks at his apprentices to "Get on with it!" before asking Dieter "What can I do fer ye, Ogre-Slayer?"
"I need a shield," Dieter says, without fuss or fanfare.
"I'm jus' finishing this one up today," says Hans indicating the fine shield he is working on, "It's fer another fella. I can do you another one tamorrow if ye like,"
"We need ta come ta an agreement on what ta do with the Guore. Whether we go back downstairs or head out inta the wilderness for the Sisters, we can't leave him behind."
Desmond raises an eyebrow at this comment.
"Do you propose we drag a sleeping stinking dwarf around with us while we raid the shrine, then?"
He shakes his head. "Wasn't my idea to free the dwarf and then leave the rest of the basement unexplored..."
Desmond stands up, pushing his chair back, "At least I can't claim full title of 'the impulsive one' anymore."
He then walks out to the back garden and begins probing the dirt with his dagger, trying to see if he can find the exact location of the lift opening.
